Default EA Sports MLB game for 2012 season?

I finally got an Xbox 360 for Christmas today along with the usual NHL 12 and Madden 12. I will probably end up selling my PS3, mostly because nobody plays online anymore due to last April's PSN cluster****, and also because most games that I own for PS3 can be bought for Xbox.

HOWEVER..

The one game I am really going to miss is MLB 11: The Show. I find it more realistic and I prefer the analog pitching. The problem is, it's made by Sony Computer Entertainment, which means there is no chance in hell that it's going to be ported onto Xbox 360 any time soon. MLB 2k11 is my other option but I'm a bit weary of 2k Sports after being disappointed by their NHL 2k series. Their contract with MLB expires in 2012, which could possibly mean that EA Sports is going to make a return to baseball games.

Anyways, should I give MLB 2k12 for Xbox a try or keep my PS3 just for MLB The Show?

By the way, I still own MVP Baseball 2004, my favorite game of all time. I won the World Series with the Expos the year after they moved.

Hopefully we'll see MVP Baseball 2012, with Joey Bautista on the cover.

There won't be a new EA MLB game any time in the near future, as Take-Two owns third-party publishing rights to all MLB properties.

The deal allows for first parties to produce their own MLB games (hence why Sony can still put one out every year), but unless Microsoft publishes a new baseball series, you're stuck with 2K.

That deal expires at the end of this upcoming season, and 2K hasn't renewed it. If I recall correctly recently they stated they won't or at least haven't given intentions in their comments to do so. Lots of signs are pointing to EA being able to make a baseball game for the next season, and there some anticipation that EA is preparing to do so. Their Facebook game World Series Superstars on Facebook could be used as a hint.

Also the creative director from MLB The Show has recently moved over the EA. Although he's currently an added creative director to the Madden series.
