FS: House for sale in Crescent Heights
Posting this for a friend at work that is relocating to BC. They have spent years renovating this house and the pride of ownership shows. Have a look, send them some comments, or just go buy it.

Mods fell free to move to the Real Estate section. I wasn't sure if that was limitted to Travis Munroe or open to all.

Wow, very nice. I was looking in that area back last spring and didn't see one like that and in that price range.

the page cutebluehouse.com stalls out in my firefox browswer for some reason.
Opened fine in Explorer. Nice house, seems well priced.

Don't get me wrong, the house it beautiful; but if that website is an amateur builder then kudos to them. That website is a perfect balance of looks and functionality.

Pretty much exaclty what I'm looking for right now - minus the basement suite.

nice home and I have to agree that the website is real nice. Good luck with the sale!
Edit: and thank for putting it in this section. I pay to sponsor the real estate section and as nice as I would like to be, do not want to pay for another realtor's ad space.

Just curious -- what is the appeal of a house like this (not saying it isn't desireable; just wondering what specifically people like about it). Location? Curb appeal? Price? Character features? 9 foot ceilings? Basement suite? Combination/all of the above?
Agreed that the website is a nice touch (and is very well done!)

I would say location and the renovations throughout would makes this the biggest benefit. Agree with others who aren't huge on the basement suite, but that could help with the cost.

I'm more curious to know if you don't find it appealing and why?
For me, it's a good location, not not excellent as it's somewhat close to 16th so there could be noise there. The house seems like it's been renovated but kept it's early century charm.
I've been looking for a house for almost 4 months now and I would probably buy this house if it didn't have that suite.

Don't get me wrong -- the location is great (aside from the potential noise as you mentioned) and I think it's a very nice house inside and out. Personally, I think the only thing possibly missing is a third bedroom upstairs (versus the suite in the basement), and I prefer a grass backyard versus the big deck. No matter -- it's out of my price range anyways
I was just curious after seeing thumbs up across the board what "specifically" people liked about it. Perhaps it has something to do with the demographics on CP (lots of DT working professionals) making location the big draw, and the combination of older character and recent updates (which sounds like is the case).
Also, we recently moved into a house in a nearby neighborhood and was wondering (selfishly) if there was something should be doing to bring our place up to a similar standing (a lot of the "character" was wiped out during a major 80's renovation, and there are definitely some updates that could be done as well).
P.S. Sorry for the thread de-rail Good luck with the sale!

What, out of your range!?! According to a recent CP Poll, 9/10 CP members make over $100K a year. This is very surprising to me.

I'm a little confused as to why the suite matters so much? Is it the added cost of an extra basement suite you don't need? How much does this affect the overall price. (Be gentle I'm a real estate noob)

I'm confused why someone wouldn't want a basement suite. It is either additional income to help with your rent or extra space for your family.

Houses that are suited typically cost more than a house with a basement that's unfinished or just finished with basic materials.
