Default Welcome to the American Police State

I realize there is a thread on American politics, but this is far too important to get lost in that.

You don't think the fact that a bill that is one signature away from destroying the American Constitution effectively rendering it police state is worthy of a topic on its own?

Walter Cronkite would have been even more trustworthy with a Guy Fawkes mask.

I think you undermined the discussion right off the bat by posting a video made by a dude in a Guy Fawkes mask.

Here's the New York Times article:

Stylized and unnecessarily Hollywood-esque, but the bill is something to be concerned about if I was an American. When James Clapper and Leon Panetta don't even want this bill to go through, you know it's a hot topic issue.

American citizens in the United States could be detained indefinitely without trial

Does that sound like a nothing bill to you?

It's passed the senate and the house. It needs one signature.
Considering there has been NO media attention about this, people should be legitimately worried.

Maybe I'm just more inclined to listen to what someone has to say when they believe in it enough to show their face.

Here's a fairly well-balanced article by Charlie Savage at the NY Times from last week.

Obama's. Who has threatened to veto the bill. Which was validated by Google searching for less than 2 minutes.

Here, I'm going to try and bridge the communication gap we're having:

Am I getting through?

Why should it matter who's telling it? It's the truth! It's written into the bill!

And Kayria promised to re-sign with the Ducks.
It's a wait and see, the fact that it's gotten this far without any sort of media notice is terrifying
