The season is underway as of Monday and there's the MSU-UNC aircraft carrier game tomorrow at 5 on TSN2.

I'm really looking forward to this season. There is some really good talent at the top of the league. UConn, UNC, UK, and Ohio State should all be really really good. I think that the sport should gain quite a few fans this year if the NBA stays locked out and if the talent level is what I expect it to be.

I bought a month of ESPN college player so I should be able to stay pretty on top of the sport this year. $30USD/month. http://www.espnplayer.com/espnplayer/ncaa

My Longhorns are currently unranked, but I feel like they have the talent to finish Top 20.

Wichita State picked by many to win the Missouri Valley this year, should be fighting it out with Creighton. This is Marshall's deepest team to date and seeing how his name was mentioned for every job opening in the offseason and he chose to stay here I'm expecting great things from this team.

Should be fun. Looks like the Valley may be up this year as well.

No idea what to expect from MSU this year. Opening with UNC and Duke is a pretty big task, but the whole playing on a frickin aircraft carrier thing may level the playing field a bit tonight. Izzo's teams seem to be stronger when they're doubted, seems like it leads to them playing as a team which they need to do as the talent level is a step below the elite, so I'm hopeful that they'll be a player in the Big Ten.

Just like I assume that UT will finish in the top 20 because of their recent history, You can assume that MSU you will finish top 15 just based on Izzo.

This game on an aircraft carrier is pretty cool!

24 hours of hoops starting at 10MT tonight. I'm pretty excited that I have late class tomorrow and I get to wake up at 8 to watch the Mountaineers play.

Fairly impressed with MSU despite being 0-2. Played two of the best teams in the country and showed the ability to battle them right to the wire, a couple shots here and there and they're 2-0 and rocketing up the polls. The experience will serve this team well.

Kentucky looks very good. The athleticism is astonishing on that team. I was in the second level at MSG tonight but the it sure seemed like some of those dunks came from feet above the rim. We'll see if they can handle the grind and the pressure, but the talent of that team will be tough to match.

Ugh. Wichita State really blew a great chance at a marquee win tonight in Puerto Rick against Alabama. Started settling for 3 pointers and playing out of control. Frustrating to watch them self destruct.

That said, they are going to be very, very good by the end of the season.

Here's to a shellacking of Temple tomorrow.

Wichita State just gives away their second game in 3 days. Absolutely horrible decision making in the offensive end in OT, and despite Temple not really wanting to win the game the Shockers couldn't pull it out. Very frustrating to see from a team this deep and experienced.

That said, these are probably the two best teams Wichita State will play until the tournament. They are both certainly better than Creighton.

Time to put it behind them and look forward to kicking the crap out of UAB on Friday night.

Big game tomorrow between UNC & UK. 10AM MT on CBS. A tremendous amount of talent on the court and a couple of programs that are great to cheer against. Should be good.

5-0 for the Zags and what is the most exciting part of that, is how many freshman and young players are contributing. Like always, the out of conference schedule is full of strong opponetts and the schedule really picks up starting this weekend Vs Illiniois.

Very excited for the bball season this year. Went to the UNC vs Wisconsin game last week and have plans to attend a number of the UNC games over the Christmas break. Creighton (former employer) is off to a fantastic start. The Jays haven't looked this good in quite some time.

The Tar Heels have looked good at times, but they have also had moments when they looked equally terrible. If they want to be seriously considered as a contender they need to clean up their play. I'm looking at you Zeller. The key will be the bench with McAdoo, Hairston, and Bullock to provide depth that Kentucky, Duke, or Ohio State don't have.

The NC/Kentucky game was very, very good. Sure both teams have stuff to work on but man it was an exciting game. The talent on display just scary good. As a Raptors fan all I could think of was tank, tank, tank and pick up one of these outstanding players.

Officials from the Atlantic 10 and the Big East will review Saturday's Cincinnati-Xavier fight and have the jurisdiction to hand out more penalties and could do so by Monday.

A bench-clearing brawl forced officials to cancel the final 9.4 seconds of Xavier's 76-53 victory in the contentious crosstown rivalry game with the Bearcats. The No. 8 Musketeers moved to 8-0 with the win, while Cincinnati dropped to 5-3.
Quote:
Xavier's Tu Holloway, Mark Lyons and Dez Wells all had a part in escalating the situation. Lyons was squawking at the end of the half with the Cincinnati bench. Wells was seen shoving G'Lawn Guyn after Holloway and Guyn were jawing at the end of the game.
Quote:
Holloway, though, made a more inflammatory comment in the postgame news conference when he said the Musketeers were more "gangsters" but not "thugs."

I caught the last 10 minutes on replay today. It was a really great final 10 minutes of basketball.

Xavier without Tu Holloway lost to Oral Roberts, which I think is awesome.
