Icon46 Vancouver staying classy: Stampeders' fans attacked over jersey

Quote:
For a couple Calgary Stampeders fans, their traditional trip to the Grey Cup is tarnished after one was beaten up in Vancouver for wearing his favourite team’s jersey.

Work of a professional unprovoked attacker. Not indicative of Vancouver residents.

Damned anarchists. Its like they set up a camp in Vancouver, almost like they live there or something.

Great, now if we can import some Flame fans from Vancouver to attack people who wear Canuck jerseys and Oiler jerseys to games at the Saddledome that don't involve their teams.

Have you guys noticed that the Leduc county sign looks like the Canucks Orca?

On topic: Did you guys hear that Vancouver is a really nice city?

Yes Boston fans were welcomed with open arms by your beautiful city. Chicago fans also love to visit. GET REAL!

I am in Vancouver for the Grey Cup and there are fans from every team want wearing their teams jerseys. While it is possible that it was an idiot Vancouver resident, it is equally likely that it is an idiot Stamps fan. Actually the only jersey I have yet to see today is a Lions jersey. I don't think anyone here cares too much about the football game

Didn't blame anyone. Just feels like it is always someone from Calgary. Who ever attacked him is obviously an idiot with all sorts of issues and don't think the man from Calgary did anything wrong.

Guys walk out of a bar in the early morning and a fight ensues usually means there is plenty of blame to go around for all sides.

I can only imagine if a canuck fan said he got attacked outside a Calgary bar and ran to the media immediately what the comments would be (and btw I've seen THAT happen, minus the run to the media, so let's not pretend Calgary is all smiles and hugs).

Likley the converstaion was less like:

perp: "nice jersey #######"

innocent stamps fan: "why thank you. I also like your outfit."

perp: "don't turn around and look at me" <throws punch>

and more like:

perp:"nice jersey #######"

stamps fans: "right back at you #######"

perp: "what was that? I suggest you stop looking at me"

stamps fan:"I'll look where I want #######"

etc
etc
etc

until punches were thrown.

Canuck fans and Vancouverites are in such denial about their city it's HIlARIOUS! Vancouver is a beautiful city but it's a shame about the people who reside in it. They don't deserve such a beautiful city.

it's almost beyond belief how the terrible actions of what sounds like 4 people are extrapolated to judge an area of over a million people
