I sent this list of methods for removing the protesters to the mayor's office this morning. They didn't think the courts would consider them "reasonable", but I figure Nenshi'd win in the court of public opinion by trying at least one of them:
1) begin flooding the Plaza's skating rink at 3:00 AM with fire hoses. The noise and splashback from the hoses would chase them out of their tents almost immediately. And if the city employees/volunteers operating the hoses should happen to lose contol of the hose and spray the occasional tent. Well, oops.
2) Hire/recruit several bagpipe players from the community (possibly from the CPS pipe band) to begin practicing their instruments at 3:00 AM. Each piper will be required to play a different tune, thus creating a horrible racket which would wake the dead, let alone any sleeping people camping in the Plaza.
3) Repeat playing of the CD "Air Supply's Greatest Hits" between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM over the Plaza's loudspeakers. This would not only drive the protesters from the Plaza, but possibly render them sterile as well (I know Air Supply causes my own testicles to shrink....)
4) send in staff from Animal Control to spray the tents - and immediate surrounding area - with dog pheromones, followed one hour later by other animal control officers with a truck full of un-neutered dogs.

Between that most recent video and the one of James Bullock this is actually becoming quite good in terms of entertainment value! I hope we get more (and longer) videos from Cory!
Some video from this morning at Occupy Calgary.
Regular citizen walks by and decides to voice his opinion.
A couple thoughts/observations on this video:
1. Occupy protestor is wearing a Roots sweater. Corporate whore.
2. The person dubbed "regular citizen" actually raises something I haven't seen brought up in this thread very much - it's not just offices that are close to Olympic Plaza, there are some apartment buildings close by, so the Occupy protestors are a nuisance to peoples' homes as well.
3. The Occupy protestor argues that chalk can be cleaned with a hose. Maybe not the best thing to be pointing out seeing as how the temperature will dip in the next few days.

My first thought! expensive corporate whore as well, I have to shop at Old Navy or the discount rack at Mark's, I can't afford crap from Roots.
I burnt some toast last week, it got smokey enough that it set off my smoke alarm and of course the burnt toast was tossed into the trash.
Now I didn't check the setting on the toaster before this happend, so you'd think it would be my fault... however, I do not consent, therefor I blame the city. Had they provided some kind of toaster operator to me this never would have happened! I demand a charter right! Inequality for a better future! End corporate taxes! Vibrant public toast!

He has a couple more on his new posting from today.
Disappointed that so far City Hall really hasn't had the balls to really do anything of significance toward clearing out these protesters...
But really am not surprised considering the political ideology of a lot of the council members including the mayor.
As opposed to other cities in North America who have all cleared out the protesters? oh wait...
It's not in any way shape or form a matter of political ideology - left, right or centre. In essence, it's a legal matter. And what happens has long term implications needing very serious consideration.
Everyone on Council is frustrated with the situation and want them out, but it's not that simple.

If he wants to switch it up tell him I'll meet him at the Sobey's on 17th Ave SE, I've started shopping there just to harass the guys on strike!
God those guys are annoying...they're already responsible for closing two other groceries stores, and they want me to drive out of my way to get my things?
