What do you pay for house cleaning?

The reason I am asking, is she wants to raise her price to $65.00 for the 2 hours i.e. $32.50 per hour. She claims she is being paid $35.00 per hour by others. She hasn't raised her rate for a number of years, and I think she is concerned with her travel costs (time and gas).

I got over being viewed as a slob. Just think of it as getting your money worth

As far as im concerned having someone clean for you frees up 2-3 hours of weekend fun time that you might of spent cleaning on a sunny Saturday or Sunday.

The wife does less, but she looks after the baby, so it's a fair deal.

Seems fair to me. I'd pay that for her to clean my 900sq foot apartment!

I pay 160.00..She's there for about 5 hours..Does a hell of a Job..I also know her and trust her so I don't mind spending a bit more.

Molly Maid charges $45 an hour per cleaner after the initial clean (which I think is $5/hr extra)

edit: No I don't use them, but I thought I would toss that # into the mix so people knew what a company might cost.

We pay about $100 for three hours weekly. I expect to fire the one I have every two years or so cause they start to go stale with their efforts. I couldnt imagine cleaning the same house every week for years and keep it perfect everytime after awhile the routine would reflect on the work.

But I would sacrifice some quality for trust too.

For those that talk about laundry I wouldn't go down that road with clothes too many chances for mistakes. We do get our towels and bedding done but we strip the bed for her and she still makes it after.
