Henry Burris fumbles. Lots of costly mistakes that a non-playoff teams makes.

That fumble didn't really cost us anything other than possessions. Give the guy a break.

Yes, Stamps are now in a 3-way tied for 1st place in the West. I like our chances as we are playing Winnipeg at home. All 3 teams (Calgary, Edmonton and BC) will be playing at home in their last game. Eskimos will play Saskatchewan and BC will play Montreal. I hope Montreal will not rest of some of their starters. I will have to cheer for Saskatchewan Riders next week.

Barring injuries, Burris and Reynolds should not see the field again.
Thanks for all of your hard work guys, but it's time for Tate, Cornish, and Co. to take over.

I wonder what all the tie-breakers are. 5 of the 6 playoff teams are 10-7

Agreed on Reynolds, although I haven't heard if Coker is expected to be back by next week. Might be worth Reynolds playing next week if Coker isn't 100%.
As for Burris, he definitely didn't look good on the third-down fumble, but looked comfortable enough in the two goal-line situations that resulted in two Cornish TDs. And has Sinopoli taken a a regular season snap yet? If it comes to a third-down situation with the season on the line, I'd just want Tate in there: he's taken far more short-yardage snaps than anyone else on the team.

The way those two(Tate and Cornish) are playing, i have to say I agree. Reynolds might still see some action because he is now the backup RB. I love Burris and Reynolds and I was ticked off when they got benched BUT I am for the team and it looks like Tate and Cornish are giving us good games so far.
I noticed how different reactions you get from having Tate as a starting QB though. They seems loose and more fired up. Cornish and Lewis been praising Tate a lot while Talley and Forzani are playing their best games so far. I am not saying those guys do not like Burris.

The Als won't be resting their starters as they need to win to have a chance at getting first in the east.

Yeah, only way Montreal rests starters is if Winnipeg beats Calgary and locks up 1st place (they have the tiebreaker over Montreal). In that case, Montreal has nothing to play for, but Calgary it's a non-issue since they've already lost any chance at a home playoff game.

Calgary's chances of home playoff is still as good as the other two teams. Remember they all have to win their last game. A Calgary win and a BC or Edmonton lost gets them in 2nd place. A Calgary win and a BC and Edm lost gives them first place. Calgary pretty much have to win because a lost and they are in 3rd place no matter what happens to the other games. BC is still playing a team fighting for home playoff game in the East so that would be a toughie. Edmonton have a better match up because they are playing a team who's got nothing to play for.

A game like this shows the difference that the single point can make. Calgary gets the single point last in the first half, and Mantreal can't take advantage of the feild position before the end of the half.
Without that single point, Montreal doesn't need to go for two late in the game, and instead, they kick the extra point to tie it up. Totally different endgame. Instead of being forced to go for it with 16 seconds left, they kick a field goal to again tie the game.
Of course, the game may have played out different without that single point, but on this day, Calgary's victory was made much more likely by a punt single in the first half.

Clearly Tate is the future, but does he give CGY the best chance to win, right now? I'm not so sure of that.

I am. Hank is a choker, and the book is still out on whether Tate is as well. You said it yourself in the 'Clutch' thread that there is no such thing as being 'clutch' but rather there is such a thing as being a choker. What allows someone to be 'clutch' is someone who is able to block out the importance of the moment and just go out there and do what they do normally when the pressure isn't on. Hank isn't one of those guys. The default position is flaming out in the playoffs with another Frank performance, I cannot see how Tate can do worse than that.
Just before I get piled on with the 2008 Grey Cup being held up as evidence of Hank's ability to perform well when it counts I'd like to point out that putting up 22 points in both the West Final and Grey Cup is more a testament to how good the defence was in those playoffs rather than an endorsement of how well Hank played. I suppose he should still get credit for 'not imploding' that year. However that year's Stamps team was more talented and better than every other team in the league in the regular season as well. This year's team is one of five teams that has the talent to win and they need more than a 'Not imploding' performance to actually win it.

At what point do you just give up and admit you are and have been wrong. The guy only comes out for short yardage, and he wrecks those as well.
Maybe the league fixed his failure.
At least Cgy now has a chance.

Thank-you. Bang on post IMO.
When the Stamps acquired Burris, I didn't think we'd ever win a championship as long as he was our go to guy. I didn't count on our defense winning us one however.

I don't think I said that. I think "clutch" and "choke" are both myths. Large enough sample sizes bear this out. Given enough games, players will approach their normal averages.

I am not going to get in another Burris argument here because it is clear that people are going to continue to crap on him no matter what happens.
The point of that post was to show once again the crap that Burris gets while other guys are constantly let off the hook for their mistakes/dumb plays.
Calvillo is a stupid Riders penalty away from being 2-6 in Grey Cups but constantly gets talked up as being great. He has had equally, if not more, stacked teams playing in the pathetic East and yet somehow he is always let off the hook for his screw-ups. I am not saying Burris is as good as Calvillo but it is funny how much extra crap Burris gets and how he always has everything good he has done taken away because of the so-called great teams he plays with.
Tate has thrown some terrible interceptions and they are tossed off as nothing. Burris makes a throw where the receiver gives up on the play or the DB makes a great play and he is an idiot for throwing the ball.
I think the throw Burris under the bus mentality has given a lot of fans the excuse of blaming losses on him rather than the real issue in my view which is it doesn't matter if Tate, Burris or God himself plays QB for this team if the defense doesn't improve especially late in games with a 7 point or less lead.
