I think we have indulged the occupy movement long enough in Alberta. pat pat pat, there you go. Go get a shower, find a job, and get out of my face. Lots of jobs available right now - temporary foreign workers are being recruited for the labour shortage.

Olympic Plaza is sorely in need of a renovation/revitalization (much like Central Memorial in the Beltline). I believe there are tentative plans out there to make it a much better space and less of a "toilet".
The author doesn't seem to know much about Main Street. The arrogance is pretty sad. I don't think he/she would make a very good teacher/landscaper/"hunter"/servers/unionized labour worker, nor do I think they would be happy doing it.
The whole letter is problematic. It sounds like it's coming from a petulant child ready to take his ball him.

I hope they destroy Olympic plaza. It was the toilet of Calgary before this. No idea why they even have grass there, gross.
I don't think it's a toilet at all. Sure it has some design issues but overall since the drug trade has been cleaned up and they've done simple things like put a bunch of free-standing cafe tables and chairs and flowers under the purgola it's actually a very pleasant place to hang out. Throughout the summer I had usually 2-3 meetings a week, with my insomnia coffee, outside in the plaza. Lots of people hanging out having lunch and enjoying some of the shows that are put on. Maybe you haven't been there for a while?

Jeez, I'm almost embarrassed for her. It's one of those awkward moments when someone is trying to sound all edumacated, but fails.
She should be protesting the failure of the education system.
