Well the Jackets were seeking a good young dman for awhile and a deal finally came along we liked. However, it came at a price. The once 'untouchable' Gabriel Landeskog was traded late Monday night along with Niklas Hjalmarsson and a bunch of picks for EJ and Newfoundland native Teddy Purcell.
We add two roster players who should help out and are an upgrade. We lose a top end world class talent in Landeskog but at least with EJ the potential is still there for him to be really good. We can live with his 69OV rating and hope he makes the next step this year.
It was great dealing with Beerfest and I think we are both coming away happy with the deal in the end.
