Default Shaw PVR/Gateway app in the works?

Wih Shaw coming out and saying they are not going to enter the cell phone market I asked about them creating an iphone app that will allow Shaw users to record from their smartphone. They told me "it is in the works". It was one of the factors that had me contemplating switching to Telus. I ended up staying with Shaw and got the gateway system. I like it quite a bit and we get a better package for less money that i was paying before. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard about this?

I know I would love to be able to start recording a Flames game if I am going to work late or not make it home in time.

I believe there is a Shaw software dev on this board who has indicated that something like this is in the works, if he would like to confirm or provide more details.

I have no inside information but this is what a Shaw smartphone app should be.

Shaw TV
-View guide and setup recordings. Series or episode
-Option to view only subscribed channels or STB favorites in guide view
-Search, search, search, search
-Change channel on the STB when connected to WiFi through guide
-View and manage My Recordings on the STB
-If recorded content in My Recordings is available on VOD, play on the device seamlessly.
-Order VOD content. FROM THE WHOLE VOD CATALOG.
-Play VOD content from My Orders when connected to WiFi
-Twitter, Facebook, Google+ integration

Shaw Phone
-Listen to Voicemails
-View call log
-Forward a voicemail to email
-Push notification to your smartphone (name and number) when your home phone rings or a voicemail is left
-Forward home phone # to smartphone

Shaw Webmail Client

View account details
-View and pay bill
-Add and drop a la Carte channels or premium services
-View billing history

It also should work regardless if you have the Gateway or the Moto boxes.

Great post. All those features are awesome and would make Shaw one of the leaders in the industry.

I'm hoping.....and maybe incorrectly, for a slingbox feature so I can stream to my ipad when i'm on the road. Now that would be an amazing app.

Uhh, isnt there already a Slingbox app that does that?

edit: Nm, I am guessing you want to stream Shaw content to your ipad, without a slingbox. No caffeine for me yet today.
