Actually he's a Devils fan. I don't think he could name a single current Oiler. He just really loves those dynasty teams and Wayne in particular.
He's also a big Lanny fan though. Made reference to him in a few podcasts.

He's an Oilers fan as well. I knew he was a Devils fan, but I've seen many pictures of him wearing various Oilers clothes.
Here he is with a Devils and Oilers patch in his jacket;

It helps me to think that he's only a fan of the Oilers from that era. I just hate the Oilers that much and being a Kevin Smith fan myself it pains me to think he cheers for those bums.

Anyone know why? I don't follow him on Twitter or anything. The other dates are still on.

I would be murderously angry if he cancelled our date just so he could go to a hockey game.
Either that casino/venue sucks (it is in a crappy part of town) or ticket sales were low or both.
