Sports Illustrated's Grant Wahl on Twitter: "1 benefit of ludicrous Champions League pots: Group stage may actually be interesting. Imagine this 1: Barça, AC Milan, Man City, Dortmund"

That would have been awesome heh.

Barca already behind to AC Milan, Pato scores on the first shot in the first minute.

Arsenal absolutely everywhere, Dortmund just pushing them around, there was a shot just cleared off the line. So, typical Arsenal defending.

Gotze is an incredible talent. Only 18, hes going to be a huge part of Germany's midfield moving forward.

Not to mention Grosskreutz whos also an excellent midfield player.

Spain, England, and Brazil seem to get all the hype but Germany are turning out some unbelievable players right now.

Gotze, Ozil, Khedira, Marin, Mueller, Kroos, and Schurrle, in the midfield and on the wings are going to make the national team dominant for years to come.

Yeah, its all about hype. I look at the Mertesacker/Cahill comparison.

Arsenal bought Per Mertesacker for what, £8M?

Mertesacker is 27 years old, you'll probably get 5 more great years out of him. Hes got 75 caps for Germany, hes played in the Euro Cup final, played for third place in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and has fairly extensive Champions League experience.

Bolton wanted north of £16M for Cahill, who, while a year younger only has 5 caps for England, has never had a sniff of the Champions League and never played an advanced International match in his career.

Yet hes worth twice as much as Mertesacker?

Head on head is always grim.

That was a crazy goal, but Arsenal with a valuable away goal.

I'd have take 1-1, a great equaliser which on the face of it looks like Arsenal could have done nothing about. But the substitutions were ridiculous. Shoring up defence is one thing, but when you leave yourself without a credible attack, you just invite the opposition in.

Dortmund gladly accepted and nearly got the win.

That was so dumb.

I know, lets remove the only two players in the squad who can score in RvP and Walcott and I'm sure that Chamakh the goal-less wonder and Frimpong, the player with the least amound of discipline since Joey Barton can preserve a 1-0 scoreline.

losing 5-1 to England was the greatest thing to ever happen to them, they completely re-did their youth system in 2002 I believe and are starting to see what it's produced now

They would be my pick next summer for the Euro's barring an Ozil injury

Even if Ozil was hurt, Gotze can step right in. Maybe not as good right now, but who knows in a year.

So Wenger was forced to sit in the stands for 15 after the match because of his touch line ban

They made him stay after the game? Like detention? Weird. If I had to watch from the stands I'd be sitting there with a beer. What're they gonna do? Nuthin'. Thats what.
