I thought some of the dialogue in yesterday's episode was laughable...more so than usual. Every LameAssNewEric/Sookie conversation ends with me visibly cringing. The Hoyt/Jason exchange where Hoyt woodenly says "I can't lose her."....I almost laughed out loud.

So bad....

what I liked about yesterdays episode was how the necromancer witch Antonia told the guy to tell his boss what she was going to do. Just so they could get ready I guess. Personally if I was her, I would've left it a surprise.
More dead vampires that way.

My friend wrote a blog on the last episode, quite funny and sadly true.

Quote:
The fulcrum of this season is that Annoying Crusades Necromancer inhabiting the body of that chick from the henna tattoo store. She has once again come to wield her necromancy and drag vampires out into the purifying fire of Sol. The entire episode is designed to build up to her Grand Conjuration. It’s a lot of cross-cutting between the Haggard Inquisition Lady, the various vampires around Bon Temps, and storylines that I’m not even going to bother.
One of the more curious things about this episode is that Tara has now officially gone from Feisty MMA Lesbian lady to the leader of the Hippie Witches Nazi Coalition. The one thing that struck me throughout the episode was that all these hippies have quickly gone from well-meaning witches into people who are okay practicing genocide. When Haggard Lady tells everyon who doesn’t want to be a part of it to leave, like only two people throw up the Peace Sign and go and find somewhere else they can light incense and meet up to sell one another weed. Only two. The rest of them have transformed from warm and fuzzy people to a gang of haters who are okay with inciting mass deaths.

Damn this show feels like a long abortion, please help me stop watching. This last week's show was so stupid, adding more plot lines with such a grab bag of storytelling that it makes you want to scream when its over.

See you guys next episode!

I've long since stopped watching this show, but I love coming to this thread every week and reading the reactions from the people that haven't.

Its the hope of seeing the redhead naked, Tara murdered painfully and slowly, also the many nude scenes of Sookie that help.

Can I understate my loathing for Tara, the character is just awful, turns her loyalty on a dime and has the depth of a gnat for character development.

^ Yup...just when they were turning Tara's character around, they go back and make her a simpering idiot again.

So my wife watched an episode of this while we were on holidays last week, then she said I had to watch one with her. So we saw the one with the Spanish Inquisition chick going all holocaust on the vampires.

I honestly don't get the hype this show has, I thought it would just be vampires but then there were werewolves, changelings, witches and spaghetti monster knows what else. My one sister also mentioned that Sookie is a fairy? Do the creators just fling mythical creatures at a wall and write in whatever one sticks?

Not for me.

Edit: I guess I can't complain too much, my favorite show was BSG and that ended with:
Spoiler!

^^The show was simple and extremely effective in Season One. It was quirky and dark. It had likeable characters, and one main story that all the side characters were one way or the other connected to. It was a lot of fun.......In Season One and Season One only.

Still wish I could change the title to this thread, it makes me upset everytime I see this thread bumped. But I've tried many times and failed. It should read,

"True Blood: It used to be good, but now it's a horrible mess"

You know, it almost seems that they only kind of planned for one season. Then that season was over and the writers all kind of looked at each other, grabbed a random page form the series of books and combined them all.
I still watch it, mainly while playing on the iPod while the wife watches it - but it isn't as good as it used to be.

Did anyone else crack up when Sam said "this is so ####ing sad"?

I am actually enjoying this season, I just caught up. After that first episode I had no desire to watch any more but I had heard they got better.

I laugh every time this thread gets bumped, because I think "Man, Van Flames Fan must be embarrassed, there's that thread again"

Yep and this time I'm embarassing myself by bumping it.

Outisde of the Marnie/Lafayette/Jesus crap, which was ridiculous and unnecessary(Gran is the hero?? I mean, come on!), I thought the finale was half decent.

The ending I'm sure pleased plenty of the Tara haters.

But this finale does not make up for another mess of a season. I'm glad it's over.

was that the finale? I didn't even realize it. If it was, finale = too much crying and crap and not enough boobs. And what is with Jessica coving up her bewbies in her sex scenes? The finale would've been a perfect time to set them free.

That little red riding hood outfit was killer though.
