I think the logical end point of this season might come down to Hank or Gus, one of them will be gone (likely dead) by the end of the season.

Honestly, the flashback and the end with Gus essentially taunting the old guy, absolutely brilliant and chilling. Gus is ridiculous.
This season was a slow burn, but the last couple episodes show that it's on! Can't wait to see where it goes.

And there's still 5 more episodes left!!

Different reaction from Walt than I was expecting from Hank's news. Hank is dead at the hands of the cartel for the cousins death. Gus comes out clean.

So was Walt lying to his son and family about his cancer still being in remission? The look on his face when he was putting the cook suit on insinuated, to me at least, that he got bad news.

I love the slowly escalating action in this series. Each episode is better than the last. I had a feeling it would progress this way with the slower, character-building episodes at the start.
That flashback scene was the best scene this season and probably one of the better ones in the show's history. The scene was Hank and Walt in the car with Mike right next to them was well done too.

Great season, love how they added the flashback scene to redraw the audience into liking Gus again. Something tells me he'll be up to some pretty wicked things in the next few episodes.
Still don't find all of Hank discoveries into Gus as plausible. Its all too convenient, and reeks of lazy story telling. The guy had nothing to go off and now he's making all these random amazing connections no one would ever make in a million years.
Honestly, the last 5 episodes have been wicked and excellently written, but Hank's progress on the case has been my only gripe.

I think Hank's progress makes a great deal of sense, he's following his instinct which has worked well for him in the past.
I really don't want Gus to be gone after this season, his character is outstanding and the flashback was so amazing I had to watch it again today.

"Is today the day, Hector?"
Better the second time around.
That's some sweet revenge.
I hope Gus lasts as long as is possible on the show. He's a great character and his nonchalance is just so creepy.

True. I don't think it would be necessarily entertaining to watch Hank's deductive reasoning come to some of these conclusions. I don't also know what could have been given to the audience to make it seem more plausible how Hank arrived at his conclusion.
Maybe Gus won't get taken down... I see Hector taking the fall.

Gus is amazing.
Walter enters the chicken place, tells Gus he didn't place the tracker.. "do it!... do... it..!" "May I take your order?"

This is another reason this show kicks ass.
Walt and Gus hadn't been in a room together since the box cutter scene. Mike told Walt he would never speak to him again. The way the season had gone so far, I think conventional wisdom would suggest that by season's end or near the end at least, there would be a big showdown scene between the two. But nope, the show isn't conventional and a seemingly innocent setting as the chicken counter turns out to be a pretty slick and intense scene.
There are so many cases where you think the show will go this way, and it goes another, and does it very subtley, but it's still extremely effective.

I think the real shame is that Giancarlo Esposito should win an award for best supporting actor and Aaron Paul should win for best Actor, but that'll never happen. Cranston will win again (not saying he isn't deserving but I think Paul has been better this season) and Paul will win for best supporting.
Too many great actors in a great show.
/first world problems.

I loved that scene. That and the awkwardness when Mike drove up behind Hank's car and parked right beside him. Not sure if that was by accident, or if Mike was following him. It's great that the show is able to fit in comedic elements on top of the drama.
I love that I still hate that old ######bag (Tio) even after all these years when he tried to kill that innocent family in Scarface.
One wonders where the writers are going with Gus, and who exactly he is... He is obviously connected with someone from up high, maybe he is a diplomat or something along those lines (immunity). Why else would Elaido let him live? I even had a bit of a Godfather vibe with The Don not allowing for Gus and his partner to sell meth on their own.

Aaron Paul is not the lead actor of the show, so he shouldn't win Best Actor. Supporting actor doesn't mean you have a lesser performance. It's all about the character in relation to the show. Clearly, Jesse isn't the lead, so he shouldn't be up for Best Actor. Esposito and Dean Norris(Hank) have been very good this season and will get some supporting nod discussion. Norris should get nominated for the final scene two eps ago when he was connecting the dots of the case to Gomez and his former boss IMO. Aaron Paul has been very strong this season, but I think his best work was in Season 3.
I don't think Cranston is a shoe in for Best Actor next year as well. He's been fine, but this season hasn't called on him to be amazing like seasons past. Keep in mind, this current season of Breaking Bad won't win any Emmy's till next year.(Sept 2012) There's plenty of TV to come out before then and Jon Hamm, Steve Buscemi and Michael C. Hall will always be in the mix.
Hamm will win the Emmy in a couple weeks for Season 4 on Mad Men. Deservingly so as well. He was amazing.

Alan sepinwall often makes reference to the fact Paul should and could be nominated for best actor but the show will never allow that. I think he's deserved it, especially this season but emmys are silly and it's not like people don't recognize his greatness anyway.

I just don't see how one can put Aaron Paul against other leading actors like Hamm, Cranston, Hall, Buscemi, Laurie and say his character is as prominent as the others. It's clearly not.
To me, Jesse is the perfect supporting character and Aaron deserved his Emmy for Season 3 and deserves the buzz and nominations that he will get for this season.

Is there somewhere that states the official definitions of lead & supporting actors that makes you so sure about this? I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' website.
