the 'Martin Jones' rule gives teams a shot at signing 18/19 year old undrafted players

So if I remember correctly Feaster said 7 guys would be coming to camp as tryouts. Kosterman and Jackson are two. Dowling and Severyn both have AHL contracts and will be there. Interested in seeing who the only 3 guys are.

Are you sure Dowling is on an AHL contract? I don't remember hearing about that.

Are any of these guys that were at the development camp going to be in Penticton next week?

- Justin Dowling
- Turner Elson
- Michael Quinn
- Nick Larson
- C.J. Severyn
- Scott Arnold
- Dan Bakala
- Dallas Ehrhardt
- Blake Gal
- James Martin

Yeah I was surprised about Dowling too, but last night that was one of the things Feaster said. He'll be on an AHL contract working towards getting an NHL deal similar to Bancks.

Nick Larson is a drafted player and won't be at the camp I assume. Severyn is on an AHL deal so he'll be at the rookie camp. As for the other guys who knows. Hopefully a list comes out soon.

I'd expect the Flames to release a roster next week.

Dowling, Rheault & Severyn are on AHL deals.

Your Canucks link is the same as the Martin link.

So is Sylvester attending as a Canuck?

He had a three game stint two seasons ago in Lake Erie, then killed it in the German league last season.

I never really like Sylvester as a person. Always seemed arrogant to me (but what high school WHL player isn't?). But he sure as hell is a good hockey player. Undersized at 5'6", but is an awesome point getter.

The Calgary connection seems logical, but the Flames are very, very forward-heavy in the minors right now, particularly with drafted players that they want to develop. He could get an AHL/ECHL deal, though.

All eight games of the Young Stars Tournament will be available live on Canucks.com beginning September 11th. Full details on the Young Stars Tournament can be found at canucks.com/youngstars.
This is good news for me as IIRC, the Canucks site only broadcast their own games last year and the Flames site would black me out because I wasn't in their area.
