We are having a draw where an eight foot, 400 lb Rooster is one of three choices from which the holder of the winning ticket can pick.
The winning ticket has a choice of one (1) of 1) Reggie the Rooster, 2) a 1978 3/4 ton truck that was sitting in a field for five years but ran the other day on the gas that was left in the tank back then and 3) a $2,500 donation made to Breast Cancer Research.
So far, judging from comments from ticket buyers, the Rooster is leading by a long shot as the first choice and the truck is picking up steam. That's fairly smart from a mercenary point of view because the Rooster is worth about $3,000. He was donated to us by a volunteer.
Pretty funny. He's been in a few of the local papers already.
Last year, we raffled a 1950 Massey Harris 44 Tractor named Millie that gained media attention throughout the province and raised $10,000 for a good cause . . . . . and that's Millie in the picture on the right after she was given back to us by the winner.
Its all for a good cause and folks are having fun with it. But it might be nice to draw Chicken On The Way into it.
