I think it would be a pretty easy assumption for Jesse to make, judging by Victors demeanor and where he just ran out of. I mean, you're not going to run out of a building if you hadn't just visited the crime scene.

But Jesse also just killed a man and probably wasn't contemplating the meaning of Victor running out of the building and the consequent ramifications.

Was it such an underwhelming episode that nobody is talking about it?

haha, was just thinking that. The episode had some solid moments, but I thought overall, it was kind of slow.
Loved the Saul commercial. That was priceless.
Anyone else have a gut feeling that Hank is not going to last the entire season??

I think Hank will last, but we're gonna see a darker side from him. Stepping outside the law to seek personal vengeance. He's got a new lead via Gails notes that will be presented to him next on next weeks episode.
Loved when Walter put on the "Heisenberg" hat. That scene died pretty quick though.
Breaking Bad has an episode like this every season and I don't mind them. The story progressed quite a bit too. We know Jesse could be unreliable again now that he relapsed, the car wash plan is not necessarily working out, Walt and Gus are in a chess game, and Hank is getting darker and bsessive, but also progressing in his rehab. Truly set up the season IMO.

I thought that scene with Walter in the middle of the street talking to Gus was awesome.

wasn't the greatest episode but I think it was more like what season premieres usually are
it set a bunch of things in motion to play out over the season

I thought it was a great episode. I didn't mind that it was a bit 'slower' then usual. TBH, we've all been spoiled with the onslaught of action at the end of season 3, not every episode should be a shootout....
Loved how Mike basically told Walt he would never see Gus again. Was that Gus or Mike on the phone when Heizenburg went walking up to the house? I couldn't hear. Also loved the scene where Mike showed his loyalty to Gus. I also think that Marie and Hank are headed for a seperation of sorts. I'm not too sure what Hank's issue is with her though. Maybe he's tired of her nagging/in your face ways?

I'm not sure, but I thought it was Mike. To me, the voice didn't have the Gus accent. Could be wrong though.

I think it was Mike because Walt looked around when he got the call. If it was Gus he'd figure he was calling from the house.

I think it was Mike on the phone:
1. In the bar, Mike commented to Walt about how he should get better at tailing if he planned on doing it any more, implying that he knew what Walt was up to in his car.
B. The voice sounded like Mike.

I assumed it was mike but after reading people questioning it, I went back and listened to it a few times. I turned it up really loud and concluded that I'm not convinced it was Mike. The voice didn't have the raspy growl that Mike has.
Seriously, go back and listen. To me, it doesnt sound like him. But there will probably be a Gilligan quote today saying that I'm wrong.

I thought it was Gus frankly. Walt was looking around to see how he was spotted (cameras etc.).
The get better at tailing comment from Mike I thought was simply because Walt had just tailed him to find him at this bar immediately before they started talking.
Pretty meh episode. Glad they are setting things up though. I don't really get why Jesse has relapsed though...Revenge on those dealers was taken at the end of last season, he had to kill Gale...is that why he is so messed up again now? He had to kill a guy?

It was his first kill, and it was a completely innocent guy who was begging for his life. People react to things differently and understandably, this one messed up Jesse. I buy this story arc for Jesse 100%

On the first two points, upon further contemplation, you could be right (and possibly are). Not sure much turns on that.
On the relapse, I subscribe to the theory that killing a guy is the cause of the relapse. Murder seems to be an act beyond Jesse's nature. That and the whole box cutter ordeal, which would be pretty off-putting to even the darkest of souls, is enough to make a guy look for ways to forget.

Forgot about the execution by Gus. I can see that messing with Jesse as well as the murder of Gale. I buy it as well, I just thought there would have been a line drawn or something said by his character to understand his state of mind (though that is indeed probably coming in some episode ahead)!
Part of me might just be irritated that I am now following this series weekly and have waited a long time for it. Previously I watched all 3 seasons episode after episode at my leisure because it had already aired! Damn my impatience.

Anyone else find Skinny Pete unbearable?
His Jeff Spicoli drawl makes me cringe and I think he would have been a perfect addition to the Grand Turismo cast of bad actors.
Badger on the other hand is hilarious IMHO

I don't mind Skinny Pete to be honest. Not sure why, he just seems like a guy who is trying to find his way in life. Love Badger's character.
