Hmmm...I wonder if her parents are suing the "record company" for ownership of the song since they bought and paid for its production. I believe it was originally posted by the company, so it doesn't make sense that there would be a copyright claim against it.

YouTube doesn't really investigate copyright claims. They get a DMCA takedown request, they take the video down. It is up to the person who uploaded it to challenge the takedown. In this case, if her deal with the production company says they own the video, expect it to go right back online. Unfortunately.
I'm not much of a fan of pop music, I personally think its souless crap. But the one thing about Katey Perry is she doesn't take it seriously, and she seems to be fun.
Plus she actually managed to make braces look good.

If you listen to it without looking at either video, you could definitely picture them playing back-to-back on the radio and not being able to differentiate the professional from the amateur. God, those vocal modifiers are so terrible.
