Default I hate summer

107 F for the high today, that's 42 C. It is 9:30, dark out and still 100 F.

We've already had more 100 degree days than we average in a year and it has been summer for 2 and a half weeks.

Hate, hate, hate it.

Ugh sounds gross.

I really don't like it higher than 25 (77) unless I'm by a body of water of some sort.

I was in Arizona once and it was 46 (114), but the worst I ever experienced was 37 (98) and RAINING in Melbourne. Ugh, you couldn't even breathe. What they say in Arizona is true, 'it's a dry heat'. Didn't seem nearly as bad. Except for the few meetings I had to go to in a suit. At least there was a pool waiting for me afterwards.

Course I'm not sure how much sympathy you'll get here, our last two summers were cold and rainy. Looks like we might get a nice one this year. So far so good.

I've experienced a couple 50 (122) degree days in the middle east, those are pretty unpleasant. I like anything between 30 and 35 (85 and 95).

And then when it's freezing cold outside and everything is dark and cold, we'll be missing the hot heat.

I say enjoy the extreme temps of summer while it lasts. Always better then the cold. Plus more incentives for pretty ladies to dress little as possible.

Yup, I never thought I'd hate summer but over here in the UAE, summer = bad, winter = good. It's ungodly humid and overnight lows are 35°C. In the day, it gets anywhere into the 40's right now, but by the end of July will be routinely getting up to 50. The sun is there, but barely visible because of all the dust and humidity.

The winter here is pretty much Calgary's summer weather, without the cool lows at night and the daily thunderstorms.

PIMKing, unfortunately, here in the Middle East, you won't see that in the summer! Probably not in the winter either!

Middle of winter in Melbourne, Australia at the moment and it's about 16-18 degrees most days which isn't bad at all, summer however can be 40 and raining I don't understand it. All I know is that I left Melbourne at 33 and came to Calgary at -11 and I don't think I have ever felt colder in my life!

Not a fan of summer at all, and the days are too long.

I enjoy working outside a lot more in the winter then I do the summer

Meh... a pool and air conditioning make this the best season of all, and that's without even mentioning the fringe benefits brought up by PIMKing.

LOL...it hasn't been 107 there for two months!

I wear shorts when its in the 50's...so you can tell there's a difference in our comfort levels for sure.

BTW...I will never see that except in this thread.

Well, it's 107 already today. 12:40 PM so a good 3-4 hours of heating left to go. 110+ looks probable.

110 is the record. It may be going down.

110 now, officially tied a 31 year old record from the infamous summer of 1980 which had something ridiculous like 24 straight days over 100.

Glad I wasn't here then.

it's been in the lower 100's for the last two months. (heat index) and the ambient heat is around 96-99 every day.

Broke the record, 111 was the high. Not only was this the highest recorded temperature on July 10th in Wichita, it was the highest recorded temperature in Wichita since July 12, 1980 period.

Hottest day in 31 years. ugh.

Sounds like Wichita has been rendered uninhabitable by global warming.

Time to flee with your pushcart full of belongings.

There's always a job here. You can shovel snow for me . . .

Actually, had an interview last Thursday for a job in Kalispell. Mother nature is having an influence on the difficulty of any potential decision!
