Im aware how stupid I looked. And like I said, I did like it at first, but after a couple more views, I started to notice the crap more. Keep in mind, I saw RotF in a full theatre jam packed with Transformer nerds at a midnight showing and sometimes the crowd adds to the experience, and that may be the case for Dark of the Moon. Time will tell, but I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't have a good time on Monday night just so I can save face on a message board. I had a great time.

And I hope this point is not forgotten from my OP. Even if you hate the story, hate the acting, hate the tone, what can't be denied is the visuals. Look at the attention to detail that goes into making something like this. It's pretty amazing. No, that doesn't make the movie good, but it shouldn't be forgotten either.

Great visuals can add to a story, but if the story sucks great visuals mean dick all. Personally if the story/characters aren't interesting no amount of special effects can save a movie.

I hate the term "popcorn movie", it sounds so lame. Can't you eat popcorn in any movie? Is it the term used for a blockbuster movie that's crappy?

Whoever made that one up should get their arse kicked. Why not just call a spade a spade and admit when a movie sucks.

A movie can suck balls but you can still like it. Howard the duck is terrible. But I like it for some reason.

Dark of the Moon was outstanding. Saw it last night. You would expect the series to have lost some of its luster but in this case the special effects, action and sound were ramped way up. The word epic is over abused, but that is the perfect way to describe it. Jmo this was the best of the 3 for sure. As for the Meagan Fox element, it is quickly forgotten right from the opening scene. 3d effects were not as good as Avatar but they are better than anything released so far this year.

I'll get around to seeing this movie soon enough. Thought the first one was entertaining, the 2nd one was embarrassingly terrible (as does Michael bay), so I don't really have great expectations with this one. Not a 3D fan so I'll watch in 2D. I'm sure I'll get some entertainment out of it though.

Never said the visuals could save the movie, just was pointing out that no matter how much you hate the story, acting, dialogue, tone etc, there should be some level of appreciation for the work that goes into making something like these.

I have said this before, but go watch the making of one of these on the DVD's and you will a new found appreciation for Bay and the crew working on these movies. It's a lot of work and the guys have a passion for their craft and that can't be denied.

They worked hard and have a passion for their craft so I should like their crappy movies? Okay then. You should buy a condo on 17th ave and 14th street - the builder has a passion for excellence!

37% on Rotten Tomatoes right now.

Jesus, it's like you didn't read my post at all. I'm not saying to like the movies based on that. If you don't like it, fine, but I don't think the work that goes into making these huge scale movies(big effects, big action, big sets) should go un noticed or forgotten because the script, acting etc is not to your liking. That was my only point.

Maybe only 37 percent of critics might have liked it on RT, but 90 percent of fans on RT liked it and that's 90 percent of over 60 000 votes.

Just saying.

I thought all the Transformer movies were fine.

I guess this is what it's like to be oblivious to good beer or good music. I'm pretty happy I don't see what's so irreparably terrible about these movies.

Don't know what's up with the critic review of only 37%, but I was not disappointed by this movie. Hey, if you can give Fast Five a 78%, then I really don't understand why this movie had such a low rating by the critics. I can only conclude that the critics were shown the wrong movie, possibly this one:

So Transformer fans are the only ones that voted on it. I see.

63 percent of movie snobs didn't like it, but 90 percent of fans and general movie audience liked it, truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. And ultimately, who's to say those critics are any more right or wrong than me or you?? Their opinion is just as valid as mine, they just know how to write better than me. A lot better.

No, you're not a movie critic and your opinion isn't just as valid as theirs. You like terrible movies - you shouldn't be advising anybody on what to see and what not to see. Your little reviews are causing people to waste their money...if it took you three views to figure out what the rest of us knew in the first 30 minutes of watching Transformers 2, you have no credibility at all on this topic.

It's a movie son, there is no right or wrong. I clearly can't win when dealing with a child. I'm done with you.

It's funny because this time I'm not even defending the movie. I have no reason to. I was just defending the visuals and how the amount of work that goes into shouldnt go un noticed just because the movie sucks in your opinion.

Let's say Terminator 2 or the Matrix had brutal storytelling, characters, acting, etc.....what would people say about those movies?? "The movie pretty much sucked, but the effects were unreal!"....that's all I'm saying here. I guess certain people don't understand what I'm trying to say or just feel the need to be an ass because I like a silly movie about alien robots.

This is more funny to me than annoying.
