Palin went to 6 colleges over a period of 6 years in order to get a B.Sc in communications (communications being typically one of least academically rigorous degrees) from the U of Idaho. Her only other qualification as Governer of Alaska put her in charge of a state with around 750,000 people in it, so little more than the mayor of a medium size city like Winnipeg or Regina.
Obama has a PHd law (Harvard and Columbia), even Bush Jr has a Masters from Yale, Palin is from any rational measure, education, life time achievement, wealth or political experience, at best, low to average intelligance, she is no brighter than you or I, which is fine for a normal job, town mayor or even an average MP or MLA, but to become Potus one would hope for someone of extremely high intelligence and proven organizational ability, a masters graduate of an Ivy league school in Law or Economics is typical.

Dont think she is stupid at all...nuts yes, and puts her foot in her mouth almost all the time because she speaks of that which she does not know. But I would call her far from stupid...she makes way to much money marketing herself to say that.
And what is with the complaining about Obama golfing? Are US presidents not allowed to golf all of a sudden or something? I cant remember the last President who didnt unwind on a golf course. Weird thing to bitch about.

It is true that most if not all Presidents golf. But the teleprompter-in-office has simple out spent and out golfed them all...and I mean THEM ALL!!!
60 times!!! You'd think he'd have enough to do with a crumbling economy(double dip recession with Canada begging them to get their spending under control), spending more than all the previous Presidents combined, 2 inherited wars (one doubled down on) and a new war.
He is a horrible, horrible President. No leadership. The French even think he is a wanker(pretty much corned him on Libya), Putin just uses him as a receptacle. And within 2 month has alienated to of the US's strongest allies again.
And Palin is stuuuuuupid?

^are you saying 60 times over the past few years? If that's the case that's basically nothing. Even 60 times in one year is no big deal for an avid golfer....

So 60 times since Jan 20th 2009?
thats about once every 3 1/2 weeks.
Seriously, this is a problem somehow?
And believe it or not...Presidents, (NONE of them) have ever worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just doesnt go like that.
Obama has failed to do many of the things he wanted/promised to, but it has absolutely nothing to do with golfing once a month. That is just absurd.

60 times in a summer when I was a Junior was nothing. Presidents deserve and need down time. BUT! 60 times when you have the most high pressured job in the world/ history and the poop is hitting the fan, is lazing about.
Obama has played golf 60 times during his presidency, eight times (I believe) more than Bush did during his entire tenure at the White House.
Clinton played more but he wasn't "supposed" to be running 3 wars and a crashing economy. Actually he and Eisenhower (who was a fanatic golfer) were over looking very good economies.

Transplant...
If you, had a CEO/ manager of your company (honestly I don't know what you do but I believe it is with hockey) comes in to take over a failing business and blows a billion on one of his great ideas.....actually his secretaries ideas.... and the business is falling to pieces FASTER...and he heads out to golf 60 times. What are your optics on that?
I think the golf weekends need to be shelved until better times, don't you? And yes I do understand that he and business leaders can do business on the course....but it looks really Maria Antoinette-ish when things are going crappy. He is not golfing with world leaders.

Oh come on man, out of all things Obama is screwing up you pick golfing?
PS Caged Great you may want to check up on the causes for the recession
PPS Sarah Palin is dumb as a brick, no way around it. But I kinda hope Obama gets re-elected. I think people need to fall flat on their faces in order to realize they screwed up.

The de-regulating started with Clinton. That's how people were able to borrow themselves into financial collapse. Bush didn't help things, but the blame lies squarely with Clinton. I guess the problem is though, Jon Stewart doesn't tell his viewers this, so why would they know?

The fact that you consider 60 rounds of golf over 3 1/2 years a factor at all is a good indication of why Obama will cruise to a second term. It's just not a big deal at all. 60 rounds a year is nothing, let alone over three years.

I agree completely, but I can't help but think that if this were Stephen Harper, you'd be frothing at the mouth

I don't think Palin is dumb. You don't get to be as successful as she is by being dumb. You get there by being shallow, dangerously ambitious, catty, non-intellectually curious, unworldly and gullible.
Palin is what Plato warned us about thousands of years ago in the Republic (I paraphrase): those who want power really, really badly are the last one's that should get it.

I think that's probably a good reason to occassionally go golfing. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer a world leader to have a stress release every now and then.

Presidents are only allowed to exercise every 6 weeks, so he's over his quota.

I didn't hear you crying too loudly when GWB was hanging out on his ranch while the war in Iraq was going on.

I must have missed all the alienation amongst the incredible receptions he received here and in Ireland. Not to mention just about everywhere else he travels.
If only we could go back to the good old days where Bush was doing such a great job not alienating anyone. To such an extent, he was persona non grata even in Ireland, and they have hero-worshipped every other President on their visits throughout my lifetime.
