Such drama.

If you're so concerned, may I suggest utilizing the ignore feature?

I would use it, but I have the capacity to ignore things that I don't like, rather than whining about them endlessly.

Obviously this guy spent too much time in the science lab and not enough time in learning social skills.

He can't even get his insults right.

I do have you on ignore actually. I just chose to chime in because it doesn't hide when people quote you or when people post stuff like "boy I sure hate the sutter dynasty, that guy's a total dick!".

This is a support thread for people trying to lose weight. I'm sure some of the advice is BS. Frankly anyone who takes everything at face value on the internet is a moron but we all already knew that except you. You feel the need to remind everyone that you're an expert.

Internet PhD coming through! I did a backtrace and his credentials are in order everyone, not to worry!

Anyways...

back to the topic at hand...

37.8 lbs lost. To think that I'm a week or less from hitting 40 is just astounding to me. A recommendation for those who hit a plateau like I did and maybe are wondering what's up... bacon isn't a good idea! I actually thought I could cheat and get my calorie intake up with some bacon in the morning but as soon as I gave it up the scale went flying down again. Salty and unhealthy... bacon is back to being a once or twice a week treat (and only a couple slices).

I love you bacon, but you treat me so badly baby

Oh that's another thing I have to restrict. I love getting some rice/ginger pork in teriyaki sauce with a side of chili sauce... terrible! i can only have it once in a blue moon. but its maybe my favourite food of all time when they cook it right.

Crash diet isn't crashing like normal. I am down about 6-7 lbs in 2 weeks. I have lost 3 belt sizes so that is good. Haven't started working out hard yet though just lacrosse 2-3 times a week. Next week I am starting Spin classes and I expect to shed the weight quickly. Still hoping for 20 lbs by the end of the month. Eating chicken salad with salsa dressing 2 times a day and 2 protein shakes.

Congrats to you guys, thats awesome stuff and continued success!

As of May 4th, I have lost a total of 70lbs. I have 10 more pounds to go before hitting my goal weight. I have dropped 5 pant sizes...from a 46 to 36. I am past a 36 waist now and getting close to a 34 pant.

I have stopped going to a gym and have started taking a class called MMA Aggression. Dont let the name fool you. Its basically a HIIT and its been nothing short of awesome. The instructor kicks the crap out of us a couple of times a week but the results are incredible. Not only have I kick started a plateau but I have also gotten so much stronger from it. I highly recommend an HIIT class if you can find one.

The other thing I have been doing now is lots of walking and cycling. During the summer, I would much rather be outside than in a gym. But I have to make sure I make the time for it and so far its been going well. If I fall off that wagon, its back to the gym I go.

But again, congrats to you guys. Keep it up.

in another 40 lbs im going to want to start doing something like that to tone up a bit and not just drop mass. how much does a class like that cost? a friend of mine did some MMA type training and said it was a fun way to work out.

Please remember i live in rural alberta and I find things like this to be cheaper than in the city.
The class was $79.00 for 6 weeks, twice a week for an hour each time.
And as much as we get abused, I always go back for more, cause it really is a great work out.
I am totally spent by the time the hour is up.
One of our classmates said that it was similar to a P90X work out with some MMA punching and kicking throw in. And that part is done with bags and not with another person.

This article is making the rounds here:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa...ming-pool.html

I feel bad for the guy since I was in his shoes 2 years ago when I was above 350 pounds. I would go to the gym or the public pool and I know people were snickering. Actually, a friend signed me in as a guest at a Goodlife Fitness and one of the muscle-bound dolts there actually pointed and laughed. You know, "What is a fat-ass like him doing here?!?"

As the Ontario "Weight Loss King", I've been asked to speak at our upcoming provincial conference in June. I've changed my speech to include this story. It's a sad state of society when people wanting to lose weight are ashamed to start because they will be poked fun of.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-

BTW - the group I am part of (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) have posted pictures of the state/provincial Kings and Queens for those that have already been crowned here:
http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...5.301678747756

-=-=-=-=-=-
Congratulations to those that are getting back in shape. Since I've been there, I know it is not an easy thing to do.... it takes dedication and sacrifice. So kudos to all of you.

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate everyone in their efforts. You often hear people say "why arent they doing anything about it" in regards to bigger people. I am glad to see so many of you reaching goals and living a healthier lifestyle.

Congrats everyone! The loss stories are encouraging.

I am still hard at it, hitting the gym 5 to 6 times a week. As of this morning, I am down 27 lbs, a couple of pants sizes, and a whole lot of shame! I am now back to the same weight I was 2 years ago.

Just this morning, I donated all of my "Fat Clothes" to someone who needs them in Slave Lake. That part of my life is over.

I still have a long ways to go, but the results thus far are very encouraging!

Sorry, I have to comment on this. Congrats to you, thats awesome stuff.
You should be proud of that accomplishment.

from a personal standpoint, I am 47 now and I haven't been this size since I was 20ish. It feels friggin awesome!

On another note, my wife has dropped 42 pounds as well. We both put on our wedding clothes the other day just for s***s and giggles. My suit was way too big and her wedding dress fit her just like the day she wore it.

Since January 17th, I have lost a total of 50 pounds. Since May of 2010 I have lost 68 pounds. I am pretty sure that my BMI is the best it has been since I was 4 or 5 years old. I am still obese, but it's getting better every day. My ideal weight for myself is between 185 and 190, and I am at 217 as of Sunday.

I am now thinking of joining a gym or something, since I don't look like such a blob. I also believe I would be able to maintain a workout with a higher intensity. I started doing the P90 workouts (not P90X, the one before it) but I feel like I could be doing more. Now that I have lost a lot of weight, I am focused on sculpting my body and building strength an stamina.

And MacGruber, I will argue with you up and down the sidewalk about Kiprusoff, but I have nothing but admiration and support for you when it comes to this. Congratulations and thanks for creating a sort of support group on CP.

Congratulations to everyone on their positive lifestyle changes, keep it up!

Great Job Bud!

Join a gym. It is absolutely the best thing I have done for myself. I go in the morning before work. It is a great way to set up the day!

Skinny guys feel the same sort of thing. Just have to ignore everything and everyone else when you go to the gym. You don't care what they think and you don't let them affect your workout.
