Well, as a city it is a bit stupid to support the 'rich' NHL and a 'rich' owner (who isn't using his own money) when your city is in ruins, disrepair and difficulty.

what i dont get is how a city up to its eye balls in debt, literally one of the worst off in america debt ratio wise... thinks it can cough up all these tens of millions. these politicians should be thrown in jail

Well, there's nothing illegal about being in debt - unless you can't repay it. And even then, given that debtor's prison was eradicated many decades ago, it's not 'illegal' so no jail for them. Maybe no reelection - but no jail.

They care about the state of the league and the intelligence of it's business dealings.

They care about the leadership of the league.

They care about politics and decisions that are the same all over North America in principle and are argued here in the OTF daily in many other veins.

They care about teams in Canada, and wonder if some of the ones we lost, ever got such good treatment.

Do they care about Glendale? Probably not. But there are plenty of reasons for them to care about the issue.
