Signed up for Telus - install date in mid April.
I dont like how I dont get to choose my own theme packs in the bundles but looking at Shaw I see the same thing occurs.

I just switched to Telus (from Shaw internet and phone and Bell TV) and I am a bit confused about the following from the Telus wbeiste:
How many TVs can I watch Optik TV on?You can watch Optik TV on up to 6 TVs in your home. You can watch HDTV on up to 2 TVs at any one time.
Last night I ran into the issue where I was watching the hockey game in HD, a show was being recorded in HD and my wife wanted to watch a show on another TV. No matter what I did I could not get live TV for her. She ended up watching recorded TV. I have 2HD and 1SD. I assume when they say you can watch on up to 6 tvs that does not mean live TV but a combination of recorded and live?

that's weird, I have had that situation before and was fine watching SD on the 2nd TV.
I now have 3hd now but it worked previously

You can have 6 STBs installed, but are limited to the amount of feeds. If you get 2 HD and 1 SD, then you can watch/record only that. The other STBs will need to watch a recorded show, or a live show that is on currently on another STB. Your wife could have watched a show in SD only. Hope that makes sense.

I tested it again last night and SD worked while two HD feeds were in use. No idea why I had such issues before. Thanks.

So what kind of offers has Telus been offering, I've been talking to the phone Rep for the last 25mins and when we left off I was not impressed with what he had to offer. So Im wondering what everyone else has been getting so I have something to bargain with.

Are you currently with a competitor? If so, they usually have better deals if they can win your business.

I've been unimpressed with the offers I have received as well.
I called a couple of days ago asking for them to win me over and I got basic cable and optik internet for 15 dollars a month each for the first 6 months and if I signed a 2 year contract, the guy would throw in another terminal (not PVR) for free.
I would end up paying the same as I do for shaw, with less channels and more infuriating "must purchase" channels like GraceTV.
Seriously? Church TV on basic cable?

From the offers I have received, Telus is not cheaper in any way than Shaw. The cost is very close.

Too bad...still a pass for me then. I'll stick with Shaw. You have to wonder why Telus would not carry this full time HD channel?

Is HDNET still around? I thought it went off the air a few months ago? Did on Bell anyway.

A lot of cable cos in the US are ditching it as well. I don't think Telus will want to add it. It's a real cluster fata of programming anyways.

I watch it all the time. It has some great movies (of course all in HD) and some interesting shows for the guys. Not to mention the great concerts in HD.
I wouldn't sub to a company that doesn't carry this channel.

It's not a "lot", it's just Time Warner cable that is dropping HDNet because of some dispute.

I thought the channel went down hill when it became the Girls Gone Wild channel. I like boobs and everything but I have this thing called the internet. The movies and concerts were good. This channel is hardly worth sticking with "behind the times" Shaw though.
