I'll say the Stamps will pick an OLine, OLine, DLine, receiver and maybe an LB.
We might see a few of those Stamps drafted players from last year and year before suiting up for the Stamps this season.

Just off the phone with Maurice Lloyd. He thinks its all money and disappointed Kavis didn't think he'd fit into new scheme.

I hate the Eskimos but I have to agree with this move. Maurice Lloyd is overrated and he wasn't even that good. He is one of the reason why the Eskimos sucked last season. I wish the Eskimos would have kept him though.

Calgary solidifies its running back position. Jon Cornish is coming back. The best one two punch in the CFL.

Per TSN text.
"Blue Bombers trade QB Steven Jyles to Argonauts for 4th overall pick in 2011, conditional 4th round pick in 2012."
Taking a look at the Blue Bombers wikipedia page that leaves them with
Buck Pierce
Alex Brink
Joey Elliot
Justin Goltz
at QB.

The league has also outlawed blocking below the waist on a completed forward pass, extended the use of instant replay and changed the rule on punts that sail directly out of bounds between the 20-yard lines.
On illegal participation, the intention all along was the only way you could go out and legally return was if a dastardly opponent “helped” you leave the field of play.

The CFL will changed its rule on punts that sail directly out of bounds between the 20-yard lines. The receiving team now will have the option of taking possession at the point where the ball went out of bounds, with a 10-yard penalty added, or demand a re-kick.
|
Quote:
The league will also expand the use of instant replay as it applies to situations when a quarterback is hit in the act of passing and the ball comes loose, or to determine whether a pass was caught outright, or caught, fumbled and recovered by the opposing team.

I can think of a few situations last season where that instant replay change would have come in handy...

It wouldn't have made a difference, the league had an agenda and no instant replay was going to change that.
I lost a ton of respect for the CFL last season as it was painfully obvious what they were trying to do.
Love the game, hate the league.

Looks like the Stamps won't have to worry about Yonus Davis ever again. He allegedly had possession of 67lbs of ectasy tablets.

Way to throw away what could have been an awesome CFL career!

Hahaha how else was he supposed to make a living? I assume the resale value of that E would have made him more money than playing 100 years in the cfl!

CALGARY -- The Calgary Stampeders signed defensive back Brandon Isaac to a contract extension Thursday.
Isaac had 24 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception and three sacks as a rookie. His three sacks were the most by a Calgary defensive back since 1998.
"We were really happy with Brandon's progress throughout his rookie season," said head coach/GM John Hufnagel in a statement. "Our coaching staff is excited about his potential."
Isaac appeared in 15 games last season, including two as a starter. He joined the Stampeders as a free agent in 2010.
"I'm really looking forward to the 2011 season," said Isaac. "I hope to build on the momentum from my rookie season and contribute towards the Stamps' success."

It will be interesting to see what happens with Bender and Deane, both were taken by the Stampeders in the third round of last years draft. Both are Offensive linemen.

The Bombers have traded Glover to the Esks for a conditional 6th round pick in 2012.

Draft this weekend!
I am hoping the stamps take 1 if not both of the U of C recievers in Parker and Coehoorn. They have 4 picks in the first 14 picks of the draft so they have some room to move up.

I think Parker will go #2 or #4...doubt he makes it to the Stamps. The Draft is actually on TSN this year...
