Make your case for the best healthy smoothie/protein shake

A point of much contention, obviously. Simple instructions, don't screw them up. And please don't post which Booster Juice or Jugo Juice drink is your favourite. Homemade only.

My go to:

- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- Spoonfull of peanut butter
- Chocolate whey protein
- Frozen banana
- Almond milk

Not the healthiest one around, to be sure, but it's great for a post workout drink and fills you up. And it tastes amazing.

Whos' next...

I recommend cutting the sugar portion by about a 1/3rd. That is unless you like the feeling of your teeth shaking.

This is my breakfast, I'm no expert but I think it's good for me and it tastes good.

1 Banana
3-4 tbsp of a 50/50 mix of cocoa powder & flax meal (pre mixed weekly)
1 cup cranberries
2 cups 4 berry mix
1 cup + - 1% milk

Feel free to improve my breaky, I take multi vits & fish oil daily plus a serving of fish for lunch every day (almost)

The one I make almost every day:

1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
splash (say, 1/4 cup) pomegranate juice

I use to add ice, but then I thought, why?

With slight variation I have this 3-4 times per week...

1/2 banana, preferably frozen
about 3-4 tbsp instant oatmeal
1-2 oz vanilla whey powder
1/3-1/2 cup astro plain balkan style 0% yoghurt
1/3-1/2 cup frozen mango cubes
1/3-1/2 cup frozen berry mix
2-3 tbsp flax meal or seeds
enough oj to allow this to get blended (a couple or three tbsp)

If I don't have mango I'll put in frozen cantaloupe and sometimes I'll add a large tbsp of peanut butter for more protein, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it improves the flavour.

			every morning starts with a:

whole banana
1/2 scoop - Vanilla whey protein (the Costco stuff is super yummy)
handful of frozen mangoes or peaches
~1/2 cup peach yogurt
50/50 orange juice and vanilla soy milk, as much as is needed.

I microwave it for 20 seconds because I don't like cold drinks.

This has a ton of energy in it and I'm never even tempted to drink coffee. I also have crohns and this goes down smooth as butter, so pay attention fellow crohn-kateers.

I don't measure it too close because it takes the fun out.

Some yogurt - black cherry works the best
a banana
two handfuls of washed spinach (or 6 of those frozen cubes)
fruit from the fridge - usually blueberries, but pineapple or pears on occasion
a healthy splash of pommegranite juice
two large scoops of cottage cheese.
4 ice cubes
some water

I drink about 1/3 of this, then take a tablespoon of Dr. Udo's 3 6 9 oil, and then chase it with more of this.

I highly recommend the cottage cheese over regular protein powder. The cottage cheese has casein, which is a slow release protein. I find this keeps me full until lunchtime. If i use protein powder, I get hungry or so around 1030.

It looks horrific, so don't drink it in a clear glass or you'll risk getting the heeby jeebies

Yea I was being vague, I do use the greek style. stick with the low or no fat stuff just due to the amount of consumption. make tzatziki and stuff too with it.

Also using Syntha 6 protein Vanilla, first vanilla that I've actually liked. Ordered a ton of it off a good RFD deal a few weeks ago. think it was 25$ for every 5lbs.
