Shaving in the shower is amazing - buy a fogless shower mirror and you will experience TRUE wet shaving

Just get a small mirror to hold or hang in the shower. It works awesome.

You know that damned sliver of hair underneath each nostril on either side of your nose? It's a constant struggle for me to shave off. The first time that I used a safety razor, I gave myself a fine, and nasty gash on the underside of my nose that bled for about an hour. It was amazing.

Nah, it's pretty easy.

I've clipped the opposite finger nail a couple times... i cringe even thinking about that.

what now? what do you mean by opposite finger nail, are you unsure of what hand you're clipping nails on?

I've accidentally got too crazy with the razor, and swooped it across too aggressively, and guided the razor across a finger nail before. It's an odd feeling. I've found, that shaving in the shower works best when the other hand is used as a bit of a guide (stopping lines for side burns etc), it can get sketchy.

You need to get out more. Shaving is by and large the most inconsequential part of my day.

I just yell at my beard until the hair is too scared to stay. Followed by a bare-hand-loincloth bear hunting trip. After I destroy the bear, and carry it back to my handmade log cabin, my beard has usually grown back so by that time I stare at it until it cowers back into my face.

Shaving? Hah.

Schick Hydro 3 works really well for me. I also use Edge Sensitive Skin shaving gel. The combination eliminates any razor burns I used to get.

Something like shaving defines peter12, your post is now a point of pride for him.

I have been wet shaving for three years and will probably never go back to a disposable razor. I shave with a straight razor and have never had a truly smooth, cleaner shave with anything else.

I think it is cool that one day if I am able to keep up the required maintenance I could pass my blades down through generations. I have a straight razor that my grandmother gave me that previously was used by her great grandfather.

I also appreciate the skill that is required to maneuver a razor around my neck and my face. I actually find I have less nicks on my face and not as severe as the ones from a multiple bade razor.

If it seems to interest you I would recommend looking for info online. There are lots of great resources.

Anyway

The idea of wet-shaving my balls fills me with a level of anxiety I have difficulty explaining.

I have been doing this for one month.

I shave my face and head about every 4 days and I use the no name brand 2 blade razor with tape on the end so I don't confuse it with my woman's razor (of the same make).

I know a couple guys that do it and they never fail to bring it up whenever shaving is spoken about, and I always hear that damn "real men" comment. Ugh.
I'm pretty sure they're stroking each other's, egos.

This is even creepier considering your username.

I am also curious though if any of the wet shaver's do any downstairs maintenance and if they are using a straight razor or a disposable for it.

bah - real men?
Until you've wet shaved your balls, with a straight razor, with no foam, in the shower, while having a wank; none of you will reach John Wayne status.
