I can definitely understand the flavour argument, but the too thick/too heavy argument is hogwash.

If you drink the good-stuff in Ireland you will understand. Clean taps and poured right. It is smooth as can be. Order Murphy's Irish Stout when around Cork though, as that is local favorite and they do not like when you order Guiness.

The stuff here is putrid in comparison... but occasionally i will order it when I am in the mood.

I've never been, but I've heard that as soon as a bottle/keg of Guinness has left Dublin the flavour has already changed.

Not sure what it's like in Calgary, but for some reason St. Patricks day here brings out all the ugly people. I've never seen more obnoxious drunk heffers on the streets than on St Patricks Day.

I had a cousin visit from England this fall and just about spat the Guinness out after taking a few sips. He said there was no comparison between this stuff and the real stuff.

It hurt my feelings because I love it and drink it any chance I get. But only a few pints depending on how much I ate that night.. Not because it is like drinking bread, that is a rumour, but because it is definitely one of the more relaxing beer on the market..

Remember if you shorten it, it's St. Paddy's Day, not St. Patty's Day. Unless you are coincidentally honouring some hamburgers.

I'm mostly English, but my great grandfather on my mom's side came from Newry. Newry is technically in Northern Ireland, but his last name was O'Hara so I will be having a few today. And by few I mean I'm going to a kegger.

Aren't you legally supposed to drink while bowling?

Boston is an Irish city, with Irish accent, thought some of you Irish folk might enjoy this. Posted in the funny vid thread as well. NSFW
