Default Calgary Train Yard For Photos

Hi,

Anyone know where the train yard photos are taken potentially? (4th photo down from the following link)

http://inspiredoccasions.blogspot.co...%20Photography

I'm trying to take some wedding photos and this train yard will be ideal. Thanks.

I could of sworn that was somewhere near Fort Macleod.

Thanks, Traditional Ale. But if you look at the description the ceremony was at Baker Park (near Scenic Acres) so I doubt they would have gone to Fort Macleod for the post ceremony photos.

That could potentially be just south of Calgary just off Highway 2 by the Saskatoon Farm.

Although looking at it again, I don't think it is.

Yeah my bad. I didn't read the article, just skimmed to the picture.

Maybe if you need to do it locally, somewhere in Heritage Park along the train line?

Check the map, there are rail lines right beside Baker Park.

Personally I wouldn't shoot on the tracks because it's trespassing, and you can be arrested or fined. Not to mention the danger of being hit by a train.

Thanks for the info, looks like it is just beside the Shriners. The Heritage park idea is swell but the cost might be prohibitive when everyone has to pay to get it.

I don't know the exact location of the railroad shots you had a link too. My wife and I had some wedding photos taken in and near Field, B.C. Its a bit of a drive from here ( about 2.5 hours) but we got alot of awesome railway photos and mountain views. Field, B.C. has a switching yard.

The yard near the Shriners temple is really busy -- if you're looking to do a shot like this I'd make it quick.

Plus you're trespassing and you might even get fined. I wonder if the people in the photo/photographer got permission to do it first.

My kid loves trains and it's a great place to watch them - shunting back and forth and moving out long trains.

I've seen people shooting along the tracks at Edworthy as well, but never in wedding garb!
