No one more thing...
I would have bought a 27" iMac right here and now, if they had updated it with the 2nd gen i7s and the 6750 ATI cards.

Damnit. Canadian Store doesn't have the iPad 2 meanwhile the US store does :@
419 Canadian for the 16GB right now, price drop
US Site says order starting March 11th, so maybe Canadian orders start that date too

So what is the exchange rate going to be on the iPad 2? $499 in the US = $579 CAD? Thinking of driving down to Seattle (live in BC) next weekend. I'm assuming I'll just have to pay GST on the amount over $50 since going down for less than 24hrs?
Also anyone know if I make an genius store appointment at a store in Seattle if I have to wait in line to get in the store?

I bet Apple does a nice little $50 gouge to the CDN store, even though USD is 3 cents less right now.
I may just wait till April when I go to PHX to buy one. I am getting one for sure though.

Well this certainly wasn't enough of an update to get most of the fence sitters interested, but I'm sure plenty of people will buy it anyway. I do like the Garageband changes though, and any iOS updates are good.

sounds like sports chek ( hockey experts) at Christmas time. The exchange rate was like .008 or something pretty much par so lets call it a cent in favor of the Cdn. I go buy new stuff and the total comes to 515 bucks ... I say oh I just have US cash is that ok. They said yeah let us put that in, that will be 579 dollars.... WTF??

I would disagree. Only power users will see the value in that. The average iPad user probably only surfs the web and plays a few games. I bet the average person would have to be educated on what HDMI out will even allow them to do with their iPad. It's not going to be the tipping point for a whole lot of people.

See I wanted to check what the prices would be and I'm seeing some weird stuff on the store.
The 16GB is $549, the 32 GB is $519, and the 64 is $749
for the 3g models
16 GB = 549, 32 = $779, 64 = $749
I wonder what the problem is?

What about it being released on my birthday in canada does that push you over the edge that steve jobs cares so much about his customers to provide me with a birthday present?
For all the techies how does the ipad 2 hold up against the thousands of new tablets

There are no "thousands of tablets." There's like 4 tablets and thousands of rumoured ones.

I'm guess I'm in the minority, but I don't see much upgrades over ipad1, other than the form and feel and nifty cover.
I already have a macbook, so adding hdmi out, garage band etc. does nothing for my ipad uses anyway.
Did the ipad1 just get a price drop? the 16Gig-3G is $550, I thought is was $650 before?
