Do they have Spielberg give away Best Picture every year?

Pretty much.
He does have a track record of making all those great movies after all. Last decade I guess...

I went to the game and only got home in time to see Firth's speech and the Best Picture, did I miss anything worth seeking out?

Melissa Leo dropping the f-bomb in her acceptance speech was great.

I watched it last night as it was getting so much hype. I thought it was great. A story (while dramatized up a bit) that I had no idea about. Just the ability to act out a speech impediment so convincingly like that is impressive.
The speech being the backing track to the montage of best pictures was a cool as well.

Highlight of the night had to be the clip from the foreign film "Dogtooth", where they showed a guy trying to kill a kitten with a pair of gardening scissors...
spoiler alert: he is successful in the film

I didn't think he had a chance and I don't disagree with the choice made, but would've loved to have seen Eisenberg win for Best Actor. He gave the most memorable performance in my mind and from a bias standpoint, Adventure Land, Zombie Land and then The Social Network were so kick ass, I wanted him to win it on merit alone.

I didn't see it, I have no opinion. Just like to see the backlash. Really upsets people these days.

My only beef is that Randy Newman won an Oscar. Family Guy was right. I'd rather die than listen to his garbage.
Trent Teznor becomes the 11th person to ever win an Academy Award and a Grammy.
(insert rather die than listen to Reznor/NIN jokes here)
