Well I sure hope the offense remains explosive as it could be a down year for the defense. The thing about Jones defense is that they play a lot of bump and run man coverage and you need really athletic corners to excel. Maybe they will have to switch to more zone coverage.

What's going on with this guy? Sportsnet web site says he resigned with Hamilton but it's not official at the CFL site or TSN and this guy is twittering he's going to Calgary. I sure hope he's right.

As a Riders fan I demand you buy Lewis, Bryant, Rambo jerseys immediately.

Possibly Claybrooks and Simpson too if you have the $$.

We have the most talented team in the CFL. I really love how Huff builds a young nucleus. He grabbed a young corner who has experience in the CFL, 24 years old, who had comparable statistics to Anderson, and has the ability to only get better in Jones defence.

Add on top of that a dynamic playmaker on special teams in Larry, and we are finally going to be able to dominate the special teams phase of the game. We can also utilize him on offence.

Dont think that Deon Murphy 2 yard average, and Larry's 10 yard average will not make a difference. That could be the difference from a punt to a field goal attempt.

We got the best talent evaluator in the CFL in my mind, and should win the grey cup this year.

So far we lost DB Brandon Browner(NFL Seattle), DB Dwight Anderson(MTL), R Ryan Thelwell(retired), DL Tearius George(released), S Wes Lysack(Tor).

Signed LB Tim St. Pierre, R/PR/KR Larry Taylor, DB Geoff Tisdale.

We might lose OG Ben Archibald(due to salary cap), DL Mike Labinjo.

I think losing both DB Browner and Anderson might sting a bit. I like the signing of Tisdale though. He is probably not be as physical as Browner or Anderson but he is talented and young DB. We finally have a legit and explosive punt return in Larry Taylor especially if he plays the way he did 2 years ago. Deon Murphy is probably fast but for some reason he seems to play scared last season. Instead of trying to find a hole in the middle he goes to the sideline. Tim St. Pierre will definitely help our special team and he can be a good back up for Randy Chevrier as a long snapper. Ben Archibald will definitely be miss if he sign somewhere else. I think BC Lions or Toronto might go after him. Wally Buono always love signing import OL while Jim Barker is very familiar with him. The only thing that might stop those teams from signing him is the big money he will command. I am hoping Archibald will go for hometown discount and sign back with the Stampeders.

..............
What is the chance of Browner being cut by Seattle? I assume he goes back to being Calgary property? I am not sure if it was his option year or not. Then what happens if there is no season in the NFL next year?

Of course that is a possibility but he signed for 3 years I believed with bonus. As much as I want him back in Calgary uniform, I also want him to suceed in the NFL. Always nice to see a former Stampeder player doing something in the NFL. I am not sure what will happen if there is labour unrest in the NFL. Since he is signed with Seattle, i don't think he is allowed to play somewhere else.

Don't forget the loss of Tom Johnson as well, he was a beat against the run, and allowed our ends to get pressure.

Cory Mace should be able to replace him, and is also a ratio buster.

I like how Huff fills holes, he is just a great gm. I think we will be fine, every year there is questions marks, and he seems to find guys through scouting to fill them and make it a position of strength.

We started the season with a questionable O-Line, and ended up with a lineman of the year, and the best offensive line in the CFL. His drafting of Canadian content has been really good, and the guys he drafted in the past draft should be ready to compete for spots.
