And again, the third head of the 3-headed monsters (TB, NJ, NYI) is a pain in the arse for the awesome Flyers.

At least we acquired the guy that beat us in Schneider.

A nice win by the Jackets and Peter Budaj steps it up and gets the big W giving some much needed rest to Halak. The top line continues to score as Henrik and Daniel both had goals early in the game. However, the story was Anze Kopitar who scored a hat trick in the third period leading the way to the victory.

Back to back wins against the Habs and the Avs have helped push the Jackets into a playoff spot for only the 2nd time this season. We need to put a string of wins together and are confident that with this group we will see the postseason.

GM Penney had this to say about the win:

Quote:
Welcome to Columbus Budaj!
After struggling early on in Columbus the Sedin's have found their stride playing with Malkin. D. Sedin is now the top scoring LW in the CPHL with 18 goals and 23 assists. H. Sedin is 9th in C scoring and Malkin is 11th amongst all RWr's.

Goalie Stats

Thomas Greiss (COL), 30 saves from 35 shots - (0.857), L, 3-1-1, 60:00 minutes

Peter Budaj (CBJ), 35 saves from 38 shots - (0.921), W, 5-9-0, 60:00 minutes

3 Stars

1 - Anze Kopitar (CBJ)
2 - Matthew Lombardi (COL)
3 - Daniel Sedin (CBJ)

Power Play

Colorado Avalanche - 3 on 6 Attempt(s) - 50.00%
Columbus Blue Jackets - 2 on 5 Attempt(s) - 40.00%
Penalty Kill

Colorado Avalanche - 3 on 5 Attempt(s) - 60.00% - Score 0 goal in Penalty Kill
Columbus Blue Jackets - 3 on 6 Attempt(s) - 50.00% - Score 0 goal in Penalty Kill

Big 5-1 win after blowing up a large part of this team. Our D-core is definitely a lot weaker lately but after getting rid of Chara it tightened up to the tune of 1 goal against. Look for a few more moves to come out of Anaheim as we continue to tweak the roster.

Flames burn the Preds behind backup up goalie Scott Clemmenson.
Flames 4 points out of the playoffs with 2 games in hand.

The slide out of the playoffs continues. Not planning on making any trades; this hasn't worked in the past, even 1-2-2 doesn't work for this team.

Solid win for the Sabres, Matt Walker gets into his first game in months and plays well with an assist and Stajan leads the way with 2 early goals.

Gave Anderson a rest for this game and Greiss was not good enough for me.

Kept a low score in what looked to be a wide open game especially the onslaught of 21 shots by the Canucks in the 3rd period. Andy McDonald shines again with another 2 goals. King Henrik was solid with 42 saves however will need a rest, Conklin will get a rare start on Tuesday against the Lightining.

The Preds are out of the playoffs now and we'll be making some trades. I hope to be around more over the next few days and get some moves done.
