To me, Atlanta's defense was keeping them out of the elite NFC team discussion all year long.
Unfortunately for them, I think they are just not as good as GB talent wise or coaching wise... Neither is any other NFC team though... I knew that Chicago failing to eliminate GB on the last week would kick them in the sack, and it appears it will... As it will with all NFC playoff teams

Green Bay is playing lights out. If they play like this, Seattle/Chicago winner doesn't stand a chance in the NFC Championship. Aaron Rodgers has ice in his veins tonight.

Well I'll be cheering for SEA now just to see a 7-9 team host the NFC Championship, even though they will never win.

To be fair if they win tomorrow they'll be 9-9 counting reg season and playoffs and hosting the NFC championship.

a question from someone who only tunes into the nfl in the playoffs, how does it work that a 7-9 team can host 2 playoff games (potentially for seattle) when they are the bottom seed?
can someone explain this to me?

They aren't the bottom seed. Green Bay is. If Green Bay wins and Seattle wins it would #6 Green Bay @ #4 Seattle.

Much like the NHL the division winner gets an auto higher seed but is like baseball in that if you don't win your division the only way to get into the post season is to win one of the wildcard spots.
Seattle won their division so they hosted one of the wildcard teams (NO) who happened to have a better record.
Sea could host the NFC Championship if GB wins (and of course if they win) because GB is a wildcard team and thus by default a lower seed.
NFL playoffs allow 12 teams in the post season. Top 2 teams in each conference get a bye to the 2nd round.
In the 1st round the division winners (who aren't top 2 in the conference) host the wildcard winners.
Winners of those games are re-seeded and play the teams who had the bye.
Winners of those games are re-seeded again and play for their Conference championship and a trip to the Superbowl.

As per conference, there are 6 teams that make the playoffs.
The top 2 teams in the division are awarded an automatic bye into the 2nd round.
After that, there are divisional winners, and wildcard teams. If you win your division (chicago, seattle, atlanta, Philly) you are awarded a playoff spot, much like NHL. Afterwards, the top 2, non-division winning teams in each conference make up your wildcard teams.
So in this case, GB had a better record then Seattle, but failed to win the division which takes automatic priority in playoff placement.
Ps:
CFL is weak compared to NFL football

Sure. If you want to count playoffs but they made it into the playoffs as a 7-9 team.
