Totally agree with JD. For a team who's been 2-30 over the past two years, it does them a hell of a lot more good for guys like Suh, Best, Pettigrew, Calvin Johnson to experience some winning from the work they're putting in. There has been too many years of losing and the Lions have one of the higher payrolls in the NFL because of how many high picks they've had to make. They need the culture changed, and winning a few games will do the whole team a hell of a lot more good than picking up one player higher in the draft.

Very poorly ref'd game last night. At least with a performance like that we don't need to worry about seeing that crew in the playoffs.
New Orleans still needs to work on the running game and needs a power back. If Ivory is healthy that's a final piece.
I was also pleasantly surprised with how Dunbar played last night, probably the best OLB performance this year.

You would think so but Hoculi's crew has been the worse for years and they still get the big games.

How much do they really gain from winning meaningless games with back-ups though?
Do they really feel awesome that they sucked a little less than GB after Rodgers went out?
Or that they were slightly better than a Miami team that didn't care?
I guess those wins might help but even with those wins they are still a team with 2 CB's that many highschool QBs could throw for 300 yards on and the team that was out of the play-off halfway through the season.
I know that a positive atmosphere around the team is a good thing and tends to lead to better play but at the end of the day all the positive feelings in the world mean nothing when the talent is not there.

The Eagles are lucky to be down only 10.

This Tuesday night game is looking to be the stunner that the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Thursday nighter was last year. For a guy who hasn't seen too much of the playbook Webb hasn't looked too bad tonight. Vick on the otherhand is lucky he doesn't have 3 picks thrown.

This might be the best effort the Vikings have put forth all year. I don't think anyone outside of that Viking locker room expected that team to do anything tonight against the Eagles. This is looking to be some job by Frazier to rally a team who has nothing to play for to show up after last weeks disaster.

Well, the Vikings have helped the Bears immensely this season and continue to do so tonight. Bears are going to have a bye in round 1 of the playoffs, and unless Carolina performs a minor miracle, we should be able to see Cutler and the starters get a few reps in the first quarter or two before he takes his night off.

I don't know...If I'm the Bears with that number 2 seed, I don't think I'd be wanting to let the Packers into the playoffs. Thats still a pretty talented team who when they're on look as good as anyone else in the NFC.

Which is true. and now that they have a bye, Im sure we will see the Bears doing their best to take out the Packers while they can. Seeing as they have a week off to recover afterwards. I wont expect a win however as i think Chicago will be expected to lay back a bit as GB fighting for a playoff spot would likely lead to a huge performance

I read the first few pages of this thread, and nearly everything posted by Erick Estrada has turned out to be dead, dead wrong. Seriously dude....you have some gall to continue posting, when you've been so horribly wrong so often. Didn't you once claim to be a guy who handicapped football for a living...I hope you're not doing that anymore. Your Raiders had a better season than you have!!!!

Last week was the first time the kid took snaps as a qb since he was drafted. He wasn't drafted as a QB out of University of Alabama at Birmingham. So Playing that well (or better than Jackson) he should get a decent look this summer

Boy I'm glad I was wrong about the Chiefs this year. Still haven't been able to watch many of the games this year. All Falcons/saints/Bucs games.

Joe Webb....the saviour?!
Defense played lights out, granted it looked like the Eagles were sleeping for the whole game.
What a fun game to watch last night in what has been a nightmarish season.

Favre fined 50K for not co-operating with the NFL investigation into Jen Sterger. Beyond that the issue is dead.

No doubt Webb earned a good long look next year, but he has some serious flaws to ovecome, but yes he earned the right to try and do so. i never knew he was so shifty...Vick like actually.
I am an avowed viking hater, but even I felt good for you and all their fans last night after the debacle this year has been.
And also, I think the game last night exposed the way to play the Eagles offense. Yes vick was slowed on that first play, but even then they were completely outmanned everywhere else.
When the Packers beat the Bears this Sunday, they will immediately set their sights on the Eagles in the 3-6 game and I like their chances as long as they scheme to limit Vick from running because the secondary has been able to contain all receiving groups they have faces all year..AND...have started to become really good at controlling the ball and limiting other teams offensive plays both by running the ball (tho not for big yards but many attempts) and obviously with rodgers playing as good as he ever has last week.
Quirky fact and it blew my mind when i saw it....the Packers have rushed for more yards this season than the Bears.

The stat that blew my mind is that Benjarvus green-ellis is about to rush for 1,000 yards and has 12 touchdowns this year. WHAT????
