Guess this is why Kobe beef is so good. Not that I'd know from personal experience.
I'd actually be vegetarian if I could, just because of reasons such as how these pigs are raised. But, I can't, so I've just cut down on meat intake quite a bit in recent years.
Would you rather these pigs be on their own and die before humans have a chance to eat them while being demented in the wild or have millions of humans save the pigs all the stress of not being able to run properly and cook a delicious bacon and egg breakfest.
Sorry to have to say I would just rather these creatures were not born in the first place. It is just an endless cycle of abuse.

i'm not judging, why can't you become a vegetarian?
I am pretty sure the animals born at these "farms" sole purpose is to become food. They don't look at a new litter of babie animals and go "you can be free..you are going to be a pet...you are going to slaughter house..you are going to be a movie star" Do you hate fish hatcheries as well? Or turtle farms because there are 1000's of turtles in a small area even though they are there to help the species recover
This a strange argument. So you would obviously be okay with having human slaves as long as they were born to be slaves then?
Anyone here watch 'Food Ink'? It goes into some of this and a lot more other stuff that goes into foods. It also offers solutions and it's free at your local library if you want to see it.
I don't eat pork or beef or lamb, or any four-legged animals (I stick to birds and fish).
It bothers me how chickens are raised and slaughtered in record time and in what I can only imagine to be horrible conditions for the bird, but my diet depends on the protein source.
When conversations or videos like this pop up, my conscience goes into overdrive. I don't think an animal has to die for me to eat it, and I don't even enjoy (or crave) meat. But, well, chalk it up to a convenient lifestyle choice, I suppose.
animals are not born for the sole purpose of becoming our food. some humans have decided to use the lives of these animals as a food source, but that does not mean their sole existence is to become food.
are humans born for the sole purpose of working the 9-5 job their whole life?
Going further down that idiotic train of logic: Is out purpose in life to be food for worms and bacteria?
His argument was that if something is born for a sole purpose, no matter how heinous, then that is morally acceptable.
If livestock are born to be raised in torturous living conditions for meat, that's morally acceptable.
If I breed two dogs to give me a puppy so that I can beat it to within an inch of its life every day, that's morally acceptable.
If I breed two humans to give me a new slave as was done in years past, that's morally acceptable.
So long as the creature was born for an expressed purpose, then everything is okay. You don't have to consider their well being.
Are you eating this puppy after you have beaten it? Or are you just having a puppy so you can beat it to death?
Again this is not the same situation these people are harvesting animals. Are you going to complain that farmers should all grow expensive organic crops and cut them by hand raising the price of all goods and services making even less people able to afford to eat the food. Do you think corn likes to be run over by a tractor? I know I wouldn't. What you are all forgetting is that these are animals and not humans! And like I said one day if aliens or the pigs mutate and take over the world and all humans are treated as their food source then so be it we had it coming.

i have no scientific evidence to back this up, but yes. most people i have talked to all seem to agree that the pigs do taste better when raised in a proper environment and not injected with hormones and antibiotics.
