Anyone watch the UConn/ Wichita State game? Looking for unbiased opinions. I hear the officiating was so obviously in UConn's favor that it was disgusting.

Wow, UCONN takes out Sparty. Big win for them (10th in the Big East my ass) and a huge RPI boost for Wichita State which hopefully will not need it.

WSU destroyed Chaminade today.

Not really surprised to see the Spartans go down, and not overly bothered by it. They've never been a team to come out and dominate, they start slow and build to the tournament where the toughness built over the season pays off. Even as a veteran team Izzo's focus has always been on March. That said, I still lost it on that horribly obvious blown out of bounds call in the final few seconds.

Not sure this really helps Wichita State all that much, they still lost to UConn and that cost them the chance to play highly ranked teams, which was crucial as the rest of their schedule doesn't give them an opportunity to do a whole lot of boosting.

Well, they've got San Diego State and LSU on the road. No idea how good LSU is. San Diego State is currently top 25. They also play in the top mid major conference, so that will help the RPI as well.

Still, I don't think they'll need it. I think they'll win the tournament to get in, finally.

I got to see Harrison Barnes yesterday vs. Kentucky. Potential is definitely there, but he just doesn't really fit what I think of a Tar Heel basketball player.

The thing that sucks about being a college basketball fan in Canada is that you barely get any games shown. We get the Big 10 channel but Big 10 isn't exactly the most exciting league to watch. Also we get Gonzaga beating up on tiny schools and CBS game or two every week. The Score usually shows a couple games here and there but I'd rather there be more.

Is there any online service similar to NHL Gamecentre that i could order in Canada for a month over winter break?
Even if it were specified to a conference I would be interested.

They've got a couple of game freshmen though. They were unconscious from 3 pt land in the second half.

2-0 against the Pac 10 but can't beat mediocre West Coast Conference teams to save their lives.

I do like Wayne Tinkle...quite a lot.

As impressive as the streak is, it's also gotta be one of the most boring streaks to ever happen. 2 games that were within 10 points? No close games at all? I mean that's about as boring as it gets. That's certainly not UConn's fault, but it does demonstrate that they are so much better than everyone else that a streak like this should almost be expected as opposed to treated as an amazing feat. Like most women's sports there's a long way to go to create a truly competitive environment, hopefully a few teams can rise up and make UConn work for their wins a bit more going forward.

Utah State has one insane crowd. Wichita State played their Bracket Buster's game in Ogden last year. That place is NUTS! They have a good team too.

UCONN going down tonight?

Down 11 to Stanford under 10 minutes to go.

Go Joslyn Tinkle!

Stanford beats UCONN by 12. The streak is over.

Texas comes back from a demoralizing start and dominates the second half. When both J'Covan Brown and Jordan Hamilton are on Texas has a chance against anybody. First loss of the season for KU. First loss at home for KU in 69 games. First Texas win at Allen Field House ever. Texas getting better as the season goes on hopefully it keeps going into the tourney.

Great win for Texas and don't forget about the Canadians, both playing great ball as freshmen. Joseph had a couple of big 3's to help pull away, and Thomas a monster as well with 5 blocks. If both stick around and don't opt for the draft, you could see three Canadian starters on Texas next year. Kabongo declared with Texas and is considered one the 15 best high school players.
