BAY BULLS, N.L. - A week-long standoff in eastern Newfoundland ended peacefully Saturday when RCMP made an arrest, but not before a man who police said kept them at bay for nearly eight days escaped the house where he had been holed up.
RCMP said a suspect was taken into custody in connection with the lengthy standoff that was marked at times by shots being fired from the home.

So cops had no idea this guy even escaped the house untill he was arrested about 20 km away.

How does a guy shoot at officers from the home and then escape without being noticed? Only in Newfoundland I guess..
