Well the Rangers are very aware that the goal this year is to get younger add talent... propsects.... picks... try to remain competitive in the very tough Gretzky division if possible....

Rangers would have loved to keep Mark Streit but this fellow was a pending UFA. He will be expensive to resign.

I didn't see the point of wasting Hejduk playing 8 minutes a night on the 4th line so decided to upgrade the defence. This move now puts EJ on the third pair for the time being.

I'll throw it out there, I'm willing to listen to offers on Erik Johnson. No guarantees I move him.
