i signed up for twitter today

can someone give me a breif idiots guide to how this thing works?

all i wanted it for was so i can get news updates related to sports/theflames...

so far ive followed....

rob kerr
boomer
cabbie
jim rome
nik lewis

who else should i follow? do their "tweets" come to me in the form of txt?
or do i have to log onto twitter?

I went there today for the first time, because, for some strange reason, nekkid Courtney Love pics caught my interest. Slow day I guess, Anyways, I searched for Courtney Love and saw this posted as a top Twit or whatever...

I've always thought it would be really funny to get a huge group of people (such as Calgarypuck members) to start following some random nobody that does nothing but update twitter all day, send @mentions at them, and then unfollow 24 hours later. Flash mob Internet style...
