I guess they do have a salary hit from him still........

Quote:
The Raiders paid Russell more than $36 million through last season. They still owe him $3 million more but saved $6.45 million by not having him on the roster in 2010.
And just to put his "bustness" into perspective...

Quote:
Russell won only seven of his 25 starts as the Raiders extended an NFL-worst streak to seven straight seasons with at least 11 losses. He completed just 52.1 percent of his passes in his career with 18 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, 15 lost fumbles and a passer rating of 65.2.

That means Russell has been paid more than $5 million per win, more than $2 million per touchdown pass and more than $100,000 per completion.

Beyond the laughter, the more important issue is that if Torres is found to be telling the truth, then Favre is in trouble as he lied to investigators about not sending the pictures and will recieve a multi game suspension. One way or another they just need to do something because this is dragging out too long.....unlike..........

oh nevermind.
What an embaressment. I guess he's going to have the extra multimillion dollar paycheques to look back on but man if he would have stayed retired as a Packer his legacy would have been of a hero and all-time great. Now his legacy will be of a great player and the biggest 'all about me' drama queen in the history of the NFL. His legacy litterally crumbles more weekly. Dan Marino may have not won the Superbowl but at least he wasn't a first class asshat like Favre.

haha, his legacy crumbles?!

How many people think this will affect his legacy as one of the best QBs of all time?! Please explain how?

I hated the guy as a Packer, tore up the Vikings far too often. But these lean years won't mean anything 10 years from now, other than to add to his consecutive game streak.

Gotta agree with Pagal. Favre will be one of the top 6 or 7 QB's of all time when he hangs them up. Some of the things that he does are annoying, but no way does his legacy crumble.

I don't know, the last couple of years have turned a lot of people into Favre haters. Get enough of those people out there and that stuff starts to stick. The numbers will speak for themselves, but the public opinion has certainly changed.

Favre had a very slim chance at being thought of as a top 5 QB of all time. the problem he always had was that despite he gaudy stats the terrible INTs always came up. HIm coming back has only given a lot more fuel to that fire as he has made some god awful throws since coming back.

I am not sure it hurts his legacy overall as he should never have been considered top 5 but after these few season he is showing that he is clearly not close to the top QB's in the league and making that argument a lot easier for the haters (pr as they are better known smart football fans).

Well the fans in England get treated to a lovely matchup this week featuring two underachieving teams who've combined for 3 wins. To make it even better, the Bronco's are coming off a 45 point loss to the Raiders, and the Niners have to start Troy Smith. I'm thinking those fans in London could be screaming for a refund.

Hahaha... no kidding.

Fan 1: "I do say ol' chap, this match is rather drab. I fail to see how the Yankees on the other side of the pond see any value in this sport."

Fan 2: "Quite right! I'd bite your arm off to see Man U back on the pitch!"

Hopes are still high for Al to fix his mistake with Russell and draft Cam Newton this year.

NFL Network unveiled the #11-20 best players of all time. Favre got #20, Ray Lewis got #18.

So only the top 10 spots remain. Judging from who hasn't been named yet, here are the top 10 players of all time (in no particular order):

Jim Brown
, Dick Butkus, Don Hutson, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Johnny Unitas and Reggie White.

He will be top 3 for sure (Rice and Montana will be the other top 3 spots). Just not sure of the order. Brown, Rice, Montana 1, 2, 3 is my guess.

Newton will have to drop to the second round then. The Patriots own the Raiders 1st rounder this year from the Seymour trade.

Without knowing it at the time, Davis probably saved himself from himself by taking away the opportunity to draft Newton.

No Dexter McCluster today for the Chiefs. It will be interesting to see where his touches go. My bet is Charles and that's not a bad thing.

The Broncos welcome back Andre Goodman and Brian Dawkins today. Thankfully.

I think that Bills game is a classic trap game for the Chiefs before they see the Raiders next week. I'm hoping that they don't blow it. Chan Gailey will have a bit of a score to settle with the team who axed him as OC one week before last years season. Upset special....Bills 31 Chiefs 28.

I don't see it. KC is vastly superior to the Bills and if KC can go to 5-2 and get some help from Seattle (playing Oakland, SF (playing Denver), and Tennessee (playing San Diego) this week, they will be sitting real pretty for the division.

Wade Phillips needs to be fired now, like at halftime!
