we have never had a full time goalie. thats the one area we have never gotten straightened up. a few of us will play it when theres 6 online; but i think you would be a welcome addition.
one nice thing is we can use practice mode to get more comfortable with each other.

If there is one, do we have a secondary option for the G position?
I may not be great at the poistion, depending on other competition, but I like playing it and would commit to it if needed. Just wondering that is.

If you defiantly want to be that person, by all means do so. As dobbles said, we've never had one before since we all preferred playing as a skater and never really spent time to be a consistently good goaltender.

I was reading this earlier today on another forum (posted by Morra), could be useful for you goalies:

Hold L2 with your middle finger and L1 with your index finger.
When guys try to go far post I let go of it and L2 glide. I L2 glide on breakaways. I always use L1 on rebounds. On some huge rebounds I'll let go of L1 and just L2 glide.
It does take a lot of mastering though.

i actually have been trying to work on that in my offline games. however, sometimes it seems as if my l2 press doesn't register. obviously though, if he suggests it, there must not be any issues. perhaps holding l1 is keeping me from fully hitting l2.

Well I play it on drop-in games and I'm usually around 3.00 GAA. That being with some pretty rough defence at times though. But for the few games I've played so far I noticed that this club has a good defence and allows very few odd man rushes/breakaways. Which made my 2 games better as a goalie when I did play. I let in 2 bad ones, but otherwise I got a lot of help and thought I did better than a computer may have for 5 of 6 overall periods. IMO anyways (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I can be biased )
I will start jumping in as a goalie if the spot is open, and if I'm not up to snuff then feel free to tell me to **** off out of the net.

That works well before EA tuned down goalie acceleration.
Right now, as long as the Goalie doesn't panic, he should be able to stay between the puck and the net.

Ya those were just for fun after we wasted half an hour trying to connect to playoff games. If it was a playoff game we wouldn't have used a manual goalie against a 2 man team let alone the league champions from last year.

I'll jump on earlier to get some games in for the legend card. I'm gonna need it to compete better.

You guys are/were in the playoffs? How does it work? If you guys are in they must have really opened it up, and if so what kind of system are they using? Round robin type of thing?

Yes. I don't have the specific details on who makes the playoffs for each division, but the main format of the playoffs is to win all four of your games similar to a round robin format. You don't have a specific team you have to challenge though.

well we made it to the finals with a 3-0 win. we are currently in OT in the final. i am unfortunately in the penalty box! its a 0-0 defensive battle.
EDIT: with seconds left in the first OT, we won! goal by jobo assists by chuckie and dobbles!

No one was gonna score on me while I was playin RD, come on man... have some faith.
It was funny watching you guys play while you were nervous though. In the first game our passing was real good and everyone was playing positionally well, by the last game it started falling apart with the nerves or whatever it was. But you still hung in there, and came out the other end - well done.

I wanted absolutely nothing to do with the puck in OT thats why i was passing it the second i got it even if that meant behind the net to dobbles haha.
