In fairness they don't have much else to choose from in Saskatchewan.

The Riders have an all female cheer squad. No males.

Edmonton has guys because they at least try to be a genuine cheerleading team. Most other CFL teams, RIders, Stamps etc just have about a dozen or two girls who can barely count to 8 let alone stay in rythem or do any actual gymnastics.

I really hope they bring in another kicker next week. I don't think Maver is up for it right now.

I think Maver's confidence is getting crushed tonight. This is the reason why it is not safe to have Maver kick a field goal over 40 yards. I am just glad that Maurice Llyod made a big booboo.

Nice for the stats but he should not have catched it for an INT. Just drop it. It was 3rd down.

Three points for the Eskies in the 2nd half - Great defensive adjustments.

Are the Eskimos endorsing animal abuse with their giant football repeatedly punching a horse. Not cool Edmonton, not cool.

Well it's not like the Esks were an offensive powerhouse in the first half. Two huge mistakes led to both of Edmonton's TD's

In a lot of ways this performance was better than the Labour day classic as the Eskimos played hard this game. If the Stampeders don't make a couple of stupid mistakes and make their field goals this game would have been a bigger route even against a team that tried hard not to get embarrassed at home. The offense moved the ball at will all game and the defense for the most part played great.

Very concerned about Maver. Not sure if he can be counted on when they play stiff competition in the Riders.

Not a horrible single though, it pushes the margin to 2 TDs and 2-pt conversions.
Up 15 don't go for it on 3rd and 2 fail and give Esks any confidence at all. Punt and make them go the whole field. Worst case would be a 16 point lead as you said.

eh.. cause defenders are trained to catch. Its risky to swat the ball, what if it's too high or goes through his hands and it deflects to the receiver. INT is the safest play!

I think the coach wanted to give him some confidence at 40 and to be fair he didn't miss it by much, not as bad as the others. Not a huge risk, they're up by 16!

Its not like hes just struggling with distance either, Maver kicked a 11 yard field goal wide as well. We need to get someone new in here quick to challenge.

Calgary won 36-20. The score doesn't really indicate how the Stamps dominated the game all night. Take out the 2 mistakes and the score would have been 36-6.

THE GOOD:
-- QB Henry Burris passed for over 400 yards, threw 2 TD passes and run for 2 TD.
-- RB Joffrey Reynolds ran for over 100 yards and the most important part of the game was he surpassed Kelvin Anderson all-time rushing leader for the Stamps.
-- MLB Juwan Simpson had a couple of QB sacks (one at the end zone for safety).
-- CB Brandon Smith intercepted 2 of Rick Ray's pass.
-- OLine gave Henry Burris all the time he can and they also gave Reynolds and Cornish lots of room to run the ball.
-- Defense played well again all night.

THE BAD:
-- Henry Burris pass intercepted for a tocuhdown.
-- Brandon Browner slipping that gave the Eskimos a TD.
-- K Rob Maver missed 3 field goals (all of them over 40 yards)

************************************************** **
Reason for Edmonton's struggle this season. Their Defense are probably the worst in the league. Their DLine can't pressure the opposition's QB and their LB can't stop a run. I think their strength on defense is their DB but those guys cannot stop them all. Their OLine are also awful and they are having hard time giving Ricky Ray some protection. I have to say the Eskimos should definitely get rid of Richie Hall, Kevin Strasser or just blow up the team. Little Richie will probably be gone by tomorrow anyways. They should get rid of Maurice Lloyd as well as this guy is all talk but couldn't stop anyone.

Maver is the weakest link. Can't be trusted to kick long FGs, and can't kick the ball deep.

Score totally flattered the Esks. They scored on two broken plays, and that was about all they did all night. Does the Burris interception count as points against the defence?

I had a look at my pictures from the Grey Cup party at Olympic plaza last year and there are definitely guys in there. They also did "genuine cheerleading" - better than the Eskimos. Did they change it this year?
