The Jays play spoilers in one of the longest divisional ties this late in the season that I can remember.

The Blue Jays? Is that the baseball team that I used to watch all the time on Sportsnet West? Whatever, I'm becoming a Minnesota Twins fan more and more every day.

The second smallest crowd of the year watches the Jays hit out 4 more homers in a win over Texas. Vernon Wells had 2 of them, he's off to a pretty awesome September so far.

Wells pretty much has as many home runs against the Rangers as he does against the rest of the league this year. Well I suppose it's really the Rangers and Yankees who he has like 13 home runs against. He does seem to enjoy playing the Rangers though.

Amazing how this thread has just died since the Jays put a huge chunk of their games on Sportsnet One.

I don`t even bother turning the games on anymore, even when they are on sportsnet. I just check MLB in the late evening for the box score.

Especially when Rzep starting is an auto-loss.

Loves beating his home town team.

Indeed. doesn't help that Bautista's bat has cooled off as of late.

Oh, Zep ain't that bad... it doesn't help that he's never blessed with much run support or great fielding. I actually really like his stuff, guys that can get groundball like he can and strike out batters has potential to be really good. That being said I'm starting to think that he doesn't have the stamina for a rotation job, I've noticed that he'll generally pitch pretty good for 5 innings and then just fall off the map. They ought to use him out of the bullpen as a lefty long-relief/spot-starter man... he couldn't possibly be worse at that job then Tallet is.

Uh-oh. Will the Jays finish the season above .500?

Maybe not, but I figured they'd be in tough to win 70 games. Even if they slump down the stretch there have still been a lot of positive things happen this year. Would like to see Bautista club 4 more home runs to get to 50.

I'd prefer the jays to fall off a bit and finish with about 75-78 wins. The reason is they're currently the 16th worst team in the league. If they finish 14th worst, then their 1st round pick next year is protected if they decide to sign any type A free agents, which should be a likely scenario with guys like Pena and Crawford available.

Drabek comes up; starts on Wed:

http://tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=333549

Right-hander Kyle Drabek, a key part of the Roy Halladay trade last winter, is scheduled to make his big-league debut Wednesday at Baltimore, and is also slated to start Sept. 22 against Seattle and Sept 28 against the Yankees, both in Toronto.
Sunday's announcement by general manager Alex Anthopoulos comes just two days after Drabek's double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats were eliminated from the Eastern League playoffs.

They were expected to go deeper in the post-season, but once they were knocked out and with Drabek still having plenty in the tank, the 22-year-old became the obvious candidate to be added to the Blue Jays rotation.

It also gave the team a chance to make an early assessment of how much of a factor he'll be in competing for a job next spring, and a first big-league look at some of the return from the Halladay deal.

Great to see Drabek get a look with the big squad.

Unfortunately none of us get to see him pitch thanks to the brilliant Sportsnet One!
