I was looking around over on the EA forums, and someone has posted a bunch of custom sound packs for NHL 11.

I downloaded the organ music (awesomely old school!) and the goal horns with music. They both seem pretty good, and while the Flames goal horn sounds a touch off, it's close enough IMO.

kinda scary reading that GM mode may be totally glitchy with teams sending star players to the minors. i hope they get that figured out. for me its not a big issue as i like to wait for the first update that starts to get people on their correct teams. hopefully they have it fixed by then.

Yeah, I usually wait till beginning of season roster update to start Dynasty mode.

I've been playing HUT though- it's great fun. Pominville and Regehr are my star players, lol.

According to a thread in the EA Sports forums, the Community Manager relayed the message that the team is aware of this problem and are actually hoping to have it fixed by launch.

This gives hope to other known glitches in this mode. And ones yet to be discovered.

thats good to see. i was actually really surprised the thread had got that big with no posts from mods or anything. the silence made it seem like it could be a more significant problem. assuming they can get it patched fairly soon i think the fallout will be minimal.

For the people who already have the game (I assume some of have it), how many players do you get in your first card pack in HUT? Also, did you play the demo when you got an extra pack and if you did play the demo and won the tourney, what was the rare card?

You get 25 players, 2 jerseys, 1 arena and 1 logo. You start with no superstars(or it's really rare) unlike in the demo.

there are also 3 free packs:
invitation - 5 cards
played demo - 5 cards
tourney win(replaces played demo pack) - 10 cards 1 rare
activate online pass - 10 cards 1 rare

I didn't check what cards I got because supposedly ea might reset the online stats before tuesday and there's a chance it might wipe whatever you got from the store early. I did make another account and one of the rare cards I got was a 35 game contract extension.

The EB Games I pre-ordered at isn't doing a midnight release.

I guess I'll just set my alarm to wake up early and go when the store opens at 10am. Then only have 7 hours to play before work. NOT ENOUGH TIME!
