Yeah, lots of hype around Apple's announcement today (as per usual).
A video iPod doesn't really interest me, though. I use my iPod when commuting to and from work and when excercising...neither of those activities lends itself to watching videos. I could see it being handy for giving to kids on long car trips or something, or maybe playing short clips, but that's about it.

Yeah, I have a hard time imagining a use for watching video on an Ipod. I was hoping for an 8 GB nano.

Gee, they're announcing another new iPod product.......is it Wednsday already?
Seriously, Apple, we get it, there's a new iPod ever week, maybe you guys should try to come up with a truly revolutionary one...perhaps the one with Ketchup.

I think an iMovie store would be more interesting than an incremental upgrade to the Nano...but a video iPod would probably be a precursor to that (like the original iPod led to the iTunes store).
Then again, I'm not sure I'd want to buy movies that way anyway. As restrictive as the DRM is on DVDs, you can be sure it would be much worse on whatever format Hollywood would demand if they ever allowed digital downloads.

I'd love to oblige, but I don't know WTF half this shinguard is. I have a 10GB ipod with over 3000 songs, and the thing is MAYBE half full. What the hell is the average joe going to do with 120GB capacity? Fill it with porn? That's a lot of porn. Especially for such a small screen. Maybe they should sell it with an adaptor that plugs into a plasma screen, then you could have a portable porn player with blue tooth capability so you can broadcast free porn onto big screen tvs.
Sweeeeet. You're going to hell Steve Jobs! Quit giving away porn!

The new Ipod apparently comes in 30/60 sizes, has a bigger screen and 30% thinner and plays videos.
Itunes 6.0 will now have music videos online, as well as Desperate Housewives and other ABC shows. Itunes providing VOD access to network TV shows is a pretty big deal.

I'll pass -- watching a movie or TV show on a screen smaller than a cassette? No thanks.

More importantly, what does the average joe need portable porn for? Those lonely bus rides home from work? You know the bus driver has the really big mirror & can probably see your pants around your ankles.

Jesus Christ. The worst thing I ever did on a bus was throw an apple out the window. Never, ever did I launch the knuckle children out the window...

Well, on long distance buses, they often show movies (or kareoke... got stuck in a tunnel once for 30 minutes on one that was showing kareokee about mahjohnng.. I'm series, 30 minutes of people singing about mahjohnng...)
Anyways, it never happened to me, but friends of mine have watched hardcore porn while on the bus...
The ones in Taiwan give you blankets, and you have a personal screen (kinda like westjet) and they show softcore

Oh. My. God.
Lemme guess, instead of barfbags, they've got a stack of napkins in the seat pocket? Maybe even some wet naps?
Boy oh boy.. It's a good thing I didn't go to junior high in Taiwan.

In high school, a guy I was buddies with chucked a pencil off of the bus and it smoked some guy driving a truck right in the eye. He chased down our bus and tried to find the guy who did it.
The guy who did it is now a police officer in the fair city of Calgary.

Video recorder? You mean you make your own? What exactly is the cost of going to a game with you?
