I watched a stream of Torture his bro and Mr. Fish play last night.
They are bad bad men I don't want to play against.

I guess all it took was a Starcraft 2 thread to Coax me out of lurking!
MrE // 895 is my char ID.

I'm making my way up gold ranking right now ranked 46th or something, but I think I should be a high end gold/low end platinum player. That being said, I do need a semi-serious 2v2 partner.

If I can't enter for this round that's ok, I'll keep a look out for the next tourney.

If we're going to do a knock out tournament not the group round robin, we should make it best out of 3 or 5 each round.

All matches were going to be best out of three in my mind. I wasn't going to post a full run down of rules that I'd concocted until after the participants were set, but here is what I have so far.
 All sets are 2-of-3.

Disconnects do not count as a loss in a deciding game. However to close a loop-hole, if it is evident that you would have lost the game anyways then it will register as a loss even in a deciding game. This rule only applies to a disconnect that happens within the first 15 minutes as well.

Rounds will take place over the course of two-to-four days to allow for conflicting schedules.

If possible, one person observing each game just for fun and to confirm if anything ######ed happens. (Server crash, etc.).

Not confined to one race. You can switch after each game.

If you have anything else, then please suggest!

If it comes down to it give Mr.Plow my spot. I just picked up the game yesterday and never played SC1 so i'm just fish in a bucket. Going to be playing all this week trying to get the hang of it but I haven't even stepped foot online yet.

I will be completely honest Raekwon, the difference between you and I would be considerable, but the difference between either of us and the guys who are at the top level is like fishing with dynamite for them.

Not sure how I feel about handicapping. There's a lot to be said for scouting, seeing what their army is like and saying "am I ahead". Or during a battle it might be wise to retreat because I'm taking too many losses.
If I've got a handicap I'm not going to have a clue where I stand until the battle is over.

Or say that somebody does something cheesy like proxy reapers or cannon rushing. Those would be pretty much impossible to hold off if they're executed well and you're handicapped.
Hell, on a close map like Steppes you could probably worker rush for a win.

Are we going with a standard map rotation setup in each round or are we doing something else like loser picks from a common map pool or something else?

I will likely randomize maps aswell and assign a map for each game to be played ahead of time.

There will be no handicapping. Players are not going to be punished for being good, that's ridiculous; and besides that I think handicapping just opens up opportunities for people of decent skill to say "I am not that good." to get the advantage.

Any Koreans in the house? You need to declare this so Blaster86 can set up 2 vs 1 matches.
