What, you people need a soundtrack for your lives? This isn't a movie, and you're not the protagonist.

Unless you're me - in which case you're exempt from the "people can't multi-task" rule - completely filling your auditory channels with music degrades your performance at everything else you're trying to do. Plus, it really annoys me when I'm talking to you, and I have to repeat myself after you take out your earbuds and look stupidly at me while saying, "Uh, what was that?"

OTOH, Radiohead is amazing walking around music. So that makes up for it.

Some day it'll be porn glasses. "My guide dog gets me where I'm going, why would I want to look at the icky real world when I could be watching my Sarah Stacked collection?"

You had a touche until you carried on with this gem:

But then that is probably the basis of your conversation. "Look at that family over there. Their children are playing games on their iPhones. What kind of stupid family are they? Don't they know that they should be having a nice conversation like we are. Stupid people."
Do you go through every faucet of your life thinking everyone around you is judging you?

Moreover, I would argue that if having a conversation doesn't help you "unwind" then you got a problem there JAGman.

No.

Did I say that having a conversation doesn't help me with "unwinding"? No, I didn't .

I guess I must have misinterpreted your earlier posts. Sorry about that. You said something along the lines of being out with your teenage daughter for dinner and she would play games while waiting for the meal to arrive. It just sounded kind of weird to me. Especially being a high school senior I'd imagine there is a gold mine of stimulating conversational exchange there.
