So....an industry that everyone benefits from shouldn't profit from creating those benefits?
I dont make a single dime from oil or its production directly.
I do however benefit from it when i need heat in the winter, gas in my tank and an oil change in my car, and a plethora of other things.
i have zero problem with oil companies making a profit even when i dont make a penny from it.
No idea what your objection is as far as that goes...but again this is about the seoperation of oil and state...whatever the hell that is supposed to mean.
So you dont like all businesses that make a profit I take it?
Do you make money in your job?
If so, why specify the oil industry for making money and not your own?
What the hell are you talking about?
I simply said that those who profit from it will defend it the most. That doesn't mean that I'm against businesses that make a profit, that we need to debate if I make money in my job, that we need to harp on the oil industry in specifc versus other industries...

Geezus, quit being a keyboard warrior here.
But then you really have no point except to say that you state the obvious well.

Huh?
I posted this:
Oil is big business with many players involved, too much money to conceive, and there is an element of environmental destruction that is associated with the oil industry. The recent BP and Enbridge failures don't help that cause either. Of course there are people are there that are going to believe that that industry is evil. And as expected, the ones who profit directly or indirectly from oil are going to be the ones who defend it. It's been the case for a very long time now.
What's wrong with that?
Weren't you the guy that just posted this?
If business doesn't profit, then government will.
Isn't that stating the obvious as well?
My points are just as valid as yours, my friend.

Has anyone on here bothered to go on their website to look at the official message yet? It seems that the actual message is lost on people: It's not really the deregulation of the Oil Industry...it's the separation of that industry due to the lax regulations that have followed suit in the tar sands.

Sorry, I meant it as sarcasm. Green text! Green text!

yeah...someone is touchy. I would offer a Kleenex but they are manufactured using oil.

here is what I read...
Quote:
Greenpeace drove a message home to the heart of Canada’s oil industry today, hanging a huge banner from the Calgary Tower that says “Separate Oil and State” to highlight the need to sever the cozy relationship between the toxic tar sands oil industry and the federal and provincial governments
So they do want the government to get out of regulating the oilsands and collecting royalties from it.
Wow...maybe the most bizarre message i could evvision from an enviromental group.

You have poor reading comprehension skills.
Go ahead though, keep taking their quotes out of context. It lends credibility to their argument that people just "don't get them" and deflects the fact that their arguments are actually full of crap.
Apparently, BP let all that oil spill out intentionally!
That being said, "free energy" will save us all, so no worries!
and the response to that intentional bp spill.

ive been privately wondering about this myself. nice to see someone else say something...
although, been discussing it with my wife in relation to 2012 prophesies of the final cycle of 'destruction by earthquake' and it could go either way. the spill could actually be relieving massive pressure which would have led to cataclysmic events...if you think about it. what boggles my mind is the actual pressure of the oil, after so many months, one mile under the sea with the weight of all that water, how can it continue to spew out so much? one pinprick and the earth bleeds so bad?

Holy guacamole!
What is this you ask?
Well clearly (CLEARLY) it's a hyperdimensional UFO firing a beam of pure energy at the whitehouse snapped by a former white house employee and air force one engineer turned professional photographer. You'd be stupid to assume it's anything else.
I would rightly assume that the beam of energy is clearly an advanced communications system designed by the Lizard people to beam instructions right into the brain of the receiver, President Obama.
If you carefully watch this video
Its clear that for the last year, the United States has been under the control of a Sith Lo . . . errr Lizard Person.

Like I said in some other thread ... I like conspiracy theories because they're way more fun than the truth. The truth is always so boring and passé.
Re thread topic ... I like Greenpeacers. I find it hilarious whenever I see people who have it so completely wrong, yet they think they have it completely right. That kind of delusional thinking is always worth a laugh. Too bad they sometimes cost me tax dollars with their antics, but I least they give me a laugh for my buck. A Revenue Canada employee's salary costs me tax dollars too, but those blood suckers don't make me laugh. Conclusion: Greenpeacers are more useful than tax collectors. Hey. at least it's something.
